Broadcast laptop desktop (no HDMI port) to Freebox v6

Hello everyone, I have a pretty urgent problem, so sorry for my language.

I’d like to cast my laptop screen (office) to my TV screen via my Freebox v6.

More precisely, I have a video playback app installed on my PC that can only be watched on the app, and I’d like to watch that video on my TV, since it’s not possible to have the video on my computer (that would make it easy to share to my Freebox).

That’s my problem.

Thank you.

I read the tutorial, but specifically I don’t have the media ^^ it’s only viewable once you launch the application and press "play," and then a small window appears with the video and a fullscreen button, pause, etc.. so I would like to display my Windows desktop on my TV, so I could watch my video on my TV.

Apart from the fact of doing a Hangout on YouTube of your screen and going to it on YouTube from your Freebox. I don’t really see how you can do it...
Or you have to look with other screen streaming or screen casting techniques

My PC doesn’t have an HDMI cable, so broadcasting my desktop to my TV that way isn’t possible—any other options?

so what am I supposed to do?
i read that on older Freebox through Freeplayer or something you could display your PC on the TV but since v6 it's no longer possible.
      is it still a thing?

    Hi there,

for my part I’ve been desperately trying for weeks to be able to stream any media from my PC running Windows 10, but it still seems that in some cases Windows and Free are mad at each other...

In absolute terms what interests me most is being able to stream media that I listen to via my browser or an application directly, like when you do it so easily with an iPhone. But apparently either the market isn’t interested, or Free has other fish to fry than helping develop this type of apps, or... well, I don’t know...

In the end the last thing I tried is Stream What You Hear (SWYH). I don’t know what your results are on your side but for me there’s first the “magic” moment that works right away. Then a bit of show-off compared to my wife and her iPhone and then finally the disappointment. Why is that? Well because SWYH hogs all the CPU resources, so the computer is almost unusable for anything else. Then there’s a delay of about 2 to 7 seconds between what’s being played on the PC and what arrives on the Freebox Player. Finally after a while all this little world must saturate in some way and it ends up stuttering, crashing, stopping on its own.

So I’m back to square one. I did searches like “DLNA renderer Freebox Windows 10” or similar on Google, in the forums... I’m starting to wonder if I should simply buy a Chromecast that I’ll plug into my Freebox Player (my goal being not having to turn on the TV when I just want to stream music via my Freebox Player which is also connected to a hi-fi amplifier).

I even recently tried “AirToPlay” in the Windows Store. Supposedly it’s also “magic.” Indeed it’s so magical that I don’t even see the AirMedia device... even after a few reboots.

Anyway. You have to be a NASA engineer to stream a bit of sound these days.... ;-)

If you have other software solutions, hardware options, or even something you can do with a blowtorch, I’m all ears!

    Happy holidays to all.

Is the video a local file or a video on the net?

You can use this to help with file sharing.

However, I think you need a Freebox TV to read files directly on the TV. If not, a USB key behind the TV can be a simple technique to solve the problem.

the video is on the application (pluzzvad).
to watch the video you must launch the application, sign in to your account, go to my videos and press play.
