Retrieve my files from a non-connected Freebox server V6?

Hello,

Up until today, I had a Freebox V6 ADSL and I have just been connected to SFR fiber. The problem is that I didn't recover my files from the Freebox server, and since my Freebox is no longer connected to the internet (and therefore it won't start), I no longer have access to it and thus to my files! Do you have any suggestions on how I can recover these files without disassembling the hard drive?

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 16.0.912.77

Try connecting an external hard drive to your server.
Connect your PC via Ethernet to the back of the server.
Go to mafreebox.freebox.fr/explorer.php or 192.168.0.254/explorer.php

No guarantee, but it's worth a try.

  Thank you.... you saved my life!!! I had all my documents related to my health issues (cancer) stored on the Freebox hard drive.... and since I switched to Bouygues, it happened faster than expected :/

Yay, I just tried this method and it works! I had a ton of movies. It took me a while to find this solution, so thanks to @I

my Freebox is stuck on step 2 due to a surge caused by lightning on the ADSL line.

Hello,
unfortunately, I don't have the solution,
it's an event to take into account from the start: the hard drive of the Freebox is not a backup, just easily accessible data that needs to be backed up elsewhere.
Indeed:
the box belongs to Free and the data stored is the responsibility of the subscriber.
At the slightest failure, at the slightest lightning strike, Free will replace the server box and the data will be lost.
Telephone lines are very exposed to storms.

  Yes, but there is a hard drive in the Freebox; if we take apart the Freebox and manage to retrieve the HDD, the data won't be lost, right?

  Except that you are not allowed to dismantle the Freebox (it belongs to Free), it is possible to read the disk under Linux apparently.
  Unless you consider that the data on the disk is more valuable than the 200 euros that Free will charge you for damaging their Freebox.

Thank you for your response Brupala. The problem is that I can no longer connect my Freebox to the internet, that's all. I tried to connect my Freebox to my SFR box, and obviously that didn’t work...
It’s really a mess, I really need to recover those files!

  ER80 - Error 80, only in unbundled areas. The Freebox is connected to Free's equipment but there is an identification problem (related to the MAC address, a sort of fingerprint of your Freebox). This can arise from 3 different causes:
  
  * Freebox connected to the correct DSLAM position but not yet registered in Free's databases. This can be quickly fixed by contacting the Hotline = http://www.freenews.fr/spip.php?article6766, especially the forums like AdUF.
  
  * Freebox connected to a Free DSLAM but wired to a wrong position: France Télécom has swapped your line with that of a neighbor for example. This error will be indicated to you when you make your request if you post on the forum mentioned above.
  
  * Freebox connected to a Free DSLAM but poorly labeled. This very rare issue occurs when the MAC address written under the Freebox does not match the one recorded in the box, hence the lack of authentication. This can be combined with a wiring error and the absence of Freebox registration, if you are unlucky...
  
  Note: it remains to be determined if the lines are unbundled or not to test elsewhere and what the version of the Freebox is for error codes (to know if it's normal or not and to know if the explanations for error codes apply to this version or not).
  
  Note: try to ask on a Free forum to allow you to connect the Freebox; temporarily register it while retrieving the files FROM A FRENAUTE.

  To summarize, you connect the Freebox server and link it via Ethernet to the PC, add an external hard drive or USB key, and type in your browser
  The address 192.168.0.254 and from the file explorer, you should see both hard drives: the Freebox one and the external hard drive, just copy from there.
  
  P.S.: If the external hard drive does not appear, you need to go to Freebox settings/file sharing/drives and format the external drive.
