I have to put a no-CD crack but it doesn't work. According to rumors in forums I've been to, if our graphics card is not compatible with shader 3, we cannot play Spider-Man 3.

Hi,
I have the same problem as well. No image but the sound is there... after a while, I can display a mouse cursor, but that's it. I have an ATI Radeon 9800pro, so no Shader 3.0. But if it's a graphics compatibility issue, it shouldn't only occur in the game, right? I can't even display the .bik intro videos... And I see no connection to the shader version supported by my card. I think it’s more of a display setting error when starting the game. I've already changed the refresh rate in DirectDraw to 60 to make sure it’s not too high, but I can't find a way to set the game to a minimum resolution like 800x600. I've looked in the registry but found nothing, nor any .ini files in the game folder to modify.
If anyone has any insights, please let me know ;) otherwise we can always patiently wait for a possible patch, but it’s still frustrating... especially since Activision doesn’t seem to be in a hurry (which is normal on one hand since the PC version brings them the least profit :p)
One last thing that makes me doubt a graphics compatibility issue is that the game was indeed developed to run on PS2... which doesn’t have a chipset with Shader 3.0. So why would they limit the PC version? -
I give you the address for a patch to try

Yes, you're right, dv27, it's annoying me in a way... I have it but can't play it, and I feel like it's related to our configurations. But it's also not normal that I only have 256 MB of RAM; that's not enough for Spiderman 3, yet I've been able to play other games that require 1024 MB of RAM, like NFS Carbon...

Hello everyone, I also bought this game and I have exactly the same problem as you: I installed it without any issues, then when I want to play, there’s a black screen and I return to the desktop, I don't even have an error report.
So, if anyone knows the solution to this problem, please reply to us.
Thank you. -
I contacted Activision (they respond quickly, within 24 hours), but they concluded that the problem comes from my setup. So the only solution is for a player with the minimum required configuration to contact them; maybe they will try to understand where the problem comes from in that case.

Hello everyone
I installed Spider-Man 3 without DirectX 9.0
and I removed all the USB cables from my PC
but unfortunately the same thing (black screen)
I believe we need a crack
If anyone has found a solution, here is my email:

Hello everyone,
I also have Spiderman 3 and everything works fine during the installation. I installed the DirectX from the CD, but when I launch the game, an error report appears. I updated all my drivers (graphics card, sound card...) and I am extremely disappointed not to be able to play this game. Those who have played it, please let me know if it's good or not.
Here are my specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2400 +
256 MB of RAM
ATI Radeon 9200 SE 128 MB
I know it’s not powerful, but all the games I bought (like NFS Carbon, F.E.A.R) have worked very well
Thank you for responding. -
Hello, I have the same launch issue.
I updated my drivers, I uninstalled my virtual CD drives. Still, this message.
It's a bit annoying. Is there any way to work around this with a patch, a crack, or something like that? -
I contacted Activision, but they replied that it was due to my configurations. It would be better if someone who has the same issues with the right configurations contacts them. Maybe then they will understand....

Hi!! I have the same problem as you (i.e., the black screen), but I think I have a good setup:
AMD Athlon 3500+
1024 MB of DDR1 RAM
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
I tried the game at a friend's place who has a setup worth double mine, and the game works!!! Moreover, IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!
I think the game automatically launches in max video mode, so there should be a file (or patch) containing the minimum setup.
Thanks in advance to those for whom the game works!!!- hahahaha too funny your PCs need 1024 MB of RAM, 256 MB graphics card, and an Intel P4 2.8 GHz processor in the readme, and I have
1024 MB RAM + 512 MB Nvidia GeForce graphics card ..... and an Intel Core Duo 3.6 GHz processor and it doesn't work properly and I forgot one thing, the T&L hahaha without it, even a 1,000,000,000 MB card won't make it work
just kidding, so you don't have those settings or better throw yourself in the sea, no you just have to buy a new computer. bye ciao to all, I put my email so if you send messages on the forum I will know for more questions.

Same problem as Pandoulas, it just says: "Cleanup has stopped working."
It's annoying me, apparently I have more than the minimum requirements, I installed with & without DirectX, but without success.
How is this possible? -
Il faut sortir le disque et voir s'il est rayé. S'il est rayé, essuie-le avec beaucoup de précision et puis réessaie.
-
Hi, same problem with a 3800+ X2 and a X1900 GT and 1024 of RAM, so it’s not the configuration that’s causing it.
-
EUREKA !!! Hear hear, brave people, I HAVE FOUND IT! Remove all your gamepads (both USB and game port) and abracadabra it launches! Until next time everyone, bye!

RE!! I found out why we feel ripped off (poetic, isn't it??) The minimum graphics card is a Radeon X1300 (I have an X600, it's dead!!) and for G-Force, it's a 7200gt.
Well, too bad for those who bought it and screw those who downloaded it (Me??!!) -
It's because Spider-Man 3 on PC is not the same version as on PS2; the game on PS2 was specifically configured for that console, and it's the same for all consoles, each having its own version.
-
It does not explain why the .bik intro videos are not visible. Especially since I can very well play them with the BINK player.
Moreover, I know very well that the versions are different from one platform to another. But the game engine remains the same. The only differences that are made are in terms of information processing, which is not the same across all platforms, as well as the hardware compatibility of those platforms. Of course, the same game on PS2 or PS3 cannot be identical; the parameters are therefore optimized for each. But on PC, there is no unique configuration like on consoles. The game is therefore "supposed" to run on the widest range of configurations possible.
