Issue launching metin2 Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,
So here it is, I would like to get some answers regarding an error message that appears when I launch Metin2.
Let me explain the situation:
- I double-click on Metin2
*The application launches and loads*
*The screen goes black as if going fullscreen*
And then, an error message appears, named LOG
Afterwards, when I click on OK, the application closes.
After trying again in vain, the same error message comes up.
I tried on my father's computer, with the same application, on my external hard drive, and it works fine.
I should also mention that it used to work on my personal computer...

You don't have permission on the Metin 2 folder. You need to right-click on your Metin2_France folder in C:\Program Files. Click on properties:
- In the security tab, select "Users (PC-de-(your session name))\Users).
- Click on Edit (if you cannot “edit” your rights, then it’s not "modify" but "advanced" in the security tab, but it’s the same thing for both)
- Click again on "Users (PC-de-(your session name))\Users)" in the window that appears and check the "full control" box. Click OK, and go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Metin2_France, and your Metin2 icon will reappear, and you will be able to launch the game. That's it for your problem.

That's for those who have Vista.

But if it does the same thing as it did for me, your patch download cuts off halfway through the download—you're out of luck. If anyone has a solution for the patch download issue, please let me know how to fix it.

I solved my problem: I just reformatted my disk, and everything is working again now. I can finally play Metin again ^^ there you go ... Thanks anyway, Adios!

Il faut enlever l'antivirus pour ne pas être emmerdé et si c'est Vista, il faut jouer en tant qu'administrateur.

I'm not sure, but it also opened a "LOG" window for me because the patch download (the white autopatch window) cut off in the middle; I didn't know what to do, so I went to my Metin 2 folder (in program files) and launched the "PatchUpdater" application. It worked, and I was able to launch the game on my PC, but not on a friend's who had the same issue, so I hope I helped you; otherwise, I don't know, sorry.

Salut, j’ai un problème. Quand je fais un double clic sur l'icône Metin 2, ça me met : Windows ne parvient pas à accéder au périphérique, au chemin d'accès ou au fichier spécifié. Vous ne disposez peut-être pas des autorisations appropriées pour accéder à l'élément. Merci de me répondre vite :)

Hello, I found the problem. It did the same thing to me, and it's not because of the antivirus. You need to defragment your computer, so you have to go to: my computer right-click on the hard drive and click on properties at the top, click on tools and finally click on defragment this may take some time, but it's very effective. You should do it twice a year for your computer to work better. There you go, and have a good game! ++

Hi guys,

My parents bought me a new computer two months ago, on the Microsoft site, they give you links to download Windows 7. I downloaded it and replaced Windows Vista with Windows 7, but now it doesn't work anymore even though the graphics card is new (1024 MB is written in the system).

Actually, the error happens when I click on the icon, the patch starts normally until the window to start the game, but when I click to start the game, it says log and some stuff in English that I don't understand, please help me!

My level 23 character is going to die otherwise!
