[The Sims 2] Game Launch Issue

Hello everyone.
So, I have a problem with my game The Sims 2 base game. The installation (via the 4 CDs) goes smoothly, but when I try to launch the game with CD1, it doesn't work. When I click on the game, the logo appears along with an error message saying:
Insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK, and restart the application
Yet the entire installation went well and I am indeed using the first CD. In short, I'm not sure where the problem is, and if anyone has a solution, that would be really nice!

Hi! I don't quite understand where your problem is coming from, but try this: Go to the EAGames-The Sims 2 folder (in my documents). Several folders will appear. Delete the Group Cache and Accessory Cache folders. These folders don't really serve much purpose and won't interfere with your gameplay. Give it a try and keep me updated. Also, remember to update your graphics card drivers. Check your PC's compatibility with the game as well.
If you have addons, I know how to do it, but not with the base CD.
If you have addons, for example Animals & Co, you install it, then you go to the computer, insert the CD, right-click on the drive and click "open." After that, you go to the TSB folder, where you find the icon that allows you to launch the game. Right-click on it and select copy, then still in the computer, go to the hard drive c:/program files/ea games/animals & co/TSB and paste it. Then you launch your game from this folder always!!!

Hi, I just bought an expansion pack (a great deal) for The Sims 2, I installed it without any problems and when I try to launch it, a message appears saying "please insert the CD/DVD" even though it's already in. So I click OK and then a window pops up with a bunch of text and at the bottom, it says "send report" or "don't send", so I click don't send and nothing happens, the game won't launch and it's really frustrating because the base CD works perfectly. Please help me, otherwise I think I'm going to throw my computer out the window. Thanks in advance.
Please, it would be really nice if someone could provide a solution. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the problem is still there, I can't launch the game...
Hi, I have a similar problem (sorry) I have the add-ons (all) the installations went smoothly but when I launch the game a window pops up saying "Please make sure the disc The Sims 2 Seasons is in the drive blablabla"
I've been struggling to find a solution for 3 months (updates, configuration, and tweaks) and I feel like my computer is going to go out the window from the 6th floor! I also have the same problem with Need for Speed Carbon or Tomb Raider Legend, but older games work perfectly fine. Please help us!!

You need to buy the Sims 2 game separately, and you won't have to reinstall it. It's just that your CD had an issue during the installation.

Hello, I also have a problem launching my Sims 2. Until now, I had all the expansions and packs, and it was working quite well, until the day it decided not to launch anymore (I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest expansion "Mansion & Garden Stuff," deleting the saves to make a "clean slate")... can anyone help me please?

Recently, I wanted to play it, everything was working, but the next day, I launched the game, no problem, and after the cinematic, when I get to the part where the squares load before accessing all the cities, but after the cinematic! Well, the game bugs and doesn't work, meaning it doesn't load and doesn't give me access to the cities. I've already waited a long time but to no avail! :/

But recently, it started happening again. (Knowing that the group.cache is located in EA Games only and not in another folder...) and when I click to delete the "group.cache," a message pops up: ""This action cannot be completed because the file is open in The Sims 2 EP9. Close the file and try again."
