Hello,
First of all, thank you for taking the time to help me in hopes of solving my problem.. ^^
So, while I was quietly reviewing my code with my laptop on my knees, I somehow managed to drop my computer... I quickly picked it up and, happy to see that the screen was fine, I went to continue my exercise when I realized that the screen was blank and the computer wasn't responding to all my commands. I had to force it to shut down, and when I turned it back on, I saw a stream of lines that were incomprehensible to me except for one line that told me to insert a so-called boot disk that I obviously don’t have in my possession, and there were some noises coming from the PC sometimes.. the page is black with white text. I feel like 2014 is going to be a
Great year... anyway, help me to see more clearly because my research hasn't given me any answers except that I should have made that famous disk before the failure :/
Thank you and happy holidays..! (Sorry for the spelling mistakes and this is my first time posting on a forum, I hope I've done everything right with a smartphone)

The hard drive took a hit

1: the hard drive lost its files
2: the hard drive is dead

The operating system software finally the files are damaged

Reinstallation of the operating system software is required.

ps: if you're on a laptop, I feel sorry for you :)

Check if the keyboard keys are not damaged and that none of them are stuck.
Because a boot option in Windows allows for a restoration using a boot disk if a certain key is pressed.

Afterward, remove the charger and the battery, then reconnect everything and start again.

Also check that there are no CDs/DVDs in the drive.

I rather think that if Windows or the hard drive were damaged, it would display a different message, like "NTLDR is missing..." or "OS absent".

Keep us informed.

Personally, I've already had the same problem, it was a hard drive issue. After that, if you know better than I do, I can't deny it :) xD

I have completed all the proposed steps and still have the same problem. Notably, at startup, there is a sound that plays before the screen even lights up and disappears when the screen turns on. There is some information displayed on the screen with dates and underneath it says "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key," and when I press enter, it tells me "media test failure"...
