Is it possible to move your box?

Hello everyone, having recently moved in, I would like to know if it is possible to move your box to a room other than the one where the phone socket is located. I want to move it because the connection from my bedroom doesn't exceed 2 bars, but the problem is that I don't have a phone socket in my room. I've seen on forums that you can use extensions, but I don't find that very practical in my opinion. Is there another way?

Thanks in advance and I'm sorry if there are already similar topics.

    Hello,

It seems to me that it's not advisable to move a box too far away from the wall socket. However, if you're going to use an extension, you might as well use an ethernet cable (10 or 15 meters are available at large stores).

You should, however, allow yourself to drill through walls or partitions. The advantage is that you can avoid using a wifi connection.

Otherwise, there's the option of wifi repeaters, but for my part, a D-Link turned out to be too unstable.

    Best regards

      Hello Georges,

I had a similar problem at home where my fiber connection came into the entrance and I wanted to have a perfect connection upstairs, not over Wi-Fi with the signal fluctuation issues, so I had to run an ethernet cable which is not really aesthetic...

I had seen the solution in copper but I found the same thing in invisible fiber optics, I installed it and really it is incredibly thin and unobtrusive.

The brand is discreet lan, here I’m sending you the link to the kit you would need, https://www.fibreos-shop.com/discreet-lan/1450-kit-complet-40-m-discreet-lan-deplacement-box-orange-bouygues-sfr-kit-complet-discreet-lan-compatible-free-connectique-vert-bleu.html

Just make sure to select the kit based on your provider (Bouygues, Orange, SFR...)

I hope this helps you :)

      Hello,

Except that the old discussion that is 9 years old wasn't about fiber ....

And a simple fiber patch cord does the same thing, we've already talked about it not long ago.
