Hello, I have a Canon Pixma MP250 printer and I'm receiving an error message on my computer: ink absorber full!
Can someone tell me what I should do?
Thanks in advance.

Hello
the emptying

The principle, what they call an ink absorber, is a bit like a sponge that collects the drops that fall; I'm simplifying, but it's the same principle as the reservoir on coffee machines that catch the overflow of water or spilled coffee.

So your sponge is dirty, eventually the ink will dry up, and the ink will no longer pass through.
How to clean it?
1- Open the printer.
2- Locate the absorber; it's the spongy tab located under the axis where the cartridges move. If you touch it with your fingers, the ink will stain you. So there's no mistake possible.
Ink deposits on this absorber and solidifies. It can no longer pass through this sponge.
3- Take cotton swabs, dip them in distilled water, and clean the absorber.
Immediate effect, it works right away!!!
If it doesn't work, or if the printer remains in security mode:
1 - Turn off the printer.

2 - Press and hold the STOP button (Red Triangle).

3 - While holding the STOP button, press and hold the ON/OFF button.

4 - Release only the STOP button and quickly press STOP twice (while keeping ON/OFF pressed).

5 - Release everything until the word "idle" appears under CANON on the screen.

6 - Quickly press STOP four times and then ON/OFF twice.

7 - Turn off the printer and turn it back on normally...
And don't forget to come back and say if it solved your problem, thanks.

Hello,
I have the same problem with this printer. I tried your technique but nothing works. Do you have any other advice? Thank you!

Nadelien, thank you. I followed your method on a Canon MP490 series. Flawless!

I made a variant of the cleaning method: Using a wooden toothpick, I lifted the foam strip, being careful to note how it was positioned. Washed it under running water. Dried it between two sheets of toilet paper. Cleaned the surrounding plastics with damp cotton swabs. Replaced the strip, again using the toothpick. Then your reset method. EVERYTHING IS GOOD. THANK YOU.
