Graphics card not detected (GeForce GT740M) by Nvidia

Hello,
I bought an Asus R900VB PC, I switched to Windows 7 and reinstalled all the drivers, except that the graphics card is detected as a 3D video controller but Windows cannot find a driver.
I went to NVIDIA's site and downloaded the proposed driver, but when I run it it says it couldn't find compatible hardware.
I used my-config which detects my card but doesn't find a driver.
graphics card data:
Manufacturer: NVIDIA Corporation (Manufacturer ID: 0x10DE)

Device name: GK208M [GeForce GT 740M] (Vendor ID: 0x10DE, Device ID: 0x1292)

Type: Display (Class: 0x03)

Subtype: 3D (Subclass: 0x02)

Revision ID: 0xA1
Driver name *** 3D Video Controller
Hardware ID *** PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1292&SUBSYS_10CC1043&REV_A1

Do you have any solutions because I’m stuck.
Thanks in advance for your answers

Hi, excuse me, I have exactly the same problem as Adralind, but it happens that I have a Toshiba L-50-A-173 under Windows 8.1 and I don’t quite understand how to apply what you have taken as the solution.

problem solved. I was actually choosing the wrong graphics driver characteristics on Nvidia's site. Instead of "GeForce 700M series" I was selecting "GeForce 700 series." The stress can be...

Graphics card without damage? properly connected?
Can you see it turned on? Is the power supply sufficient?
    Compatible configuration?
    So many questions :p

The PC is new since Saturday and the card worked under Windows 8
It's a laptop, it hasn't been bumped, so I think the card is properly connected.
And Nvidia offers Windows 7 x64 compatible drivers, so I think the card is compatible.
Asus only offers drivers for Windows 8 for this PC.
What do you mean by sufficient power supply? because it is visible in Device Manager.
    thank you

Well, actually I assumed you had built your PC, but did you buy it off the shelf?

and do you have pilots for Windows 7 appropriate for the card?

Yes, I downloaded the drivers from NVIDIA, but NVIDIA provides software and not just the drivers.
When I launch the software, it opens and looks for the card; after 2 minutes it says it didn't find any compatible hardware and asks me to close the driver installation software without ever having installed it.

Hello, I was able to solve the same problem (3D Video Controller driver missing) as you by first installing the ASUS utility: ATKACPI driver and hotkey-related utilities. Then the installation of ASUS Live Update and the Nvidia drivers becomes possible. Fair winds.

    hi,
    thanks i’ll try that.
i was able to detect it by retrieving the drivers from Asus support and from Nvidia using Nvidia’s nvcompiler.dl.
but i’m not sure it’ll work so i’ll test.

Did you manage to solve your problem? because I have the same problem.

purchased with Windows 8, I installed Windows 7 in its place. And the GeForce 740M graphics card is not detected.

Yes, I downloaded the driver from Asus's site and then from Nvidia's site the 316.26 version. You decompress the Nvidia driver, then copy the nvcompiler file from Nvidia into Asus's, and launch the installation via the Asus driver—the card is immediately detected and the driver is installed.
      See you later

I inverted it; you need to copy the nvcompiler from Asus to the Nvidia driver.
        Sorry

    Good evening,
the same problem as you two, if I understood the procedure correctly:
    - we download the Asus driver for the 900VB for Windows 8 64-bit
    - we copy the nvcompiler (not nvcompiler32)
    - we paste it into the NVIDIA driver in the display_driver directory
    is that correct?
However I can't find the NVIDIA driver version 316.26 and the nvcompiler file downloaded from Asus seems corrupted....
    if someone can help me

    thank you very much

otherwise, did I understand the manipulation correctly??

    thank you

For the maneuver, it’s good. For the driver, take a look at the archived drivers on NVIDIA’s site, otherwise it must be hanging around on my PC and I must be able to pass it to you.

I went to check the archives but nothing… I’m interested if you still have it
by the way, if you have the nvcompiler file from Asus, I’m interested as well since the zip file on the Asus site is corrupt

      thanks a lot
