Hello,

I would like to know how to add a gif to my video using Movie Maker, or alternatively with another software.

Thank you.

    Hello,

    GIF files are image files.
Software like VideoPad Video Editor accepts them.

If it is a simple GIF, then you just need to "convert" it with a graphics software.
However, you may encounter some issues if it's an animated GIF because in that case, you will need to decompose the GIF to extract the different images it contains.
For this, you can use IrfanView (Options --> extract all images) or you can go here: https://www.bloggif.com/gif-extract
The idea, just a suggestion, is to use these images to create a small video slideshow by greatly increasing the FPS to achieve the animated GIF effect, which would be easier to integrate into a video montage.

In any case, I don't think you can achieve the effect of an animated GIF, if that's the case, with free editing software. As I am not a pro in editing, I leave it to more competent people to respond to you.

With VideoPad, you can also do picture-in-picture (PiP) overlay using the Overlay track, which MovieMaker does not allow.

    Best regards

Regarding PiP, it's that feature you were asking about on the forum after going through some of your requests.
See Image (created with an English version but you'll find your way around): http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2013/34/1377327974-vpe-pip-01.jpg
