Hello,

I have a Brother DCP-340-CW that has had several issues. I was able to solve everything except for the stripes that run horizontally across all prints in black. The colors are not affected. Could you please give me some advice? Thank you in advance.

Configuration: Windows 7
IE 10

    Hello,

this is a problem I often encounter. To solve it, you need to clean the printer nozzles. To do this, go to "Control Panel", then "Devices and Printers", then "Utility". You need to start the nozzle cleaning process and follow the guide.

    I hope I was helpful.

      Hello everyone,

Very good answer from camille7679. I just want to point out that if the problem persists, you will need to do a more "active" and more "aggressive" cleaning.

Like in this video made by a professional - so not by me.

Try using cleaning liquid at 30°C or at room temperature. If you don't have demineralized water, like that used in steam irons, it can work too.

You can buy a cleaning kit on ebay.fr or go to a pharmacy and buy a syringe for 50 cents, then go to a pet store and buy the tube for aquariums that you will use to inject the cleaner (in this case, lukewarm demineralized water and definitely not boiling)

Just in case two to three cleanings of the heads/nozzles are not enough.

You need to do an active cleaning and not just rely on "conventional" head cleanings, as these fill up the ink absorber pad. Thus reducing the lifespan of your printer. And this applies to all inkjet printers of all brands....

For more information, search for "error 46 BROTHER printer reset" /(resetting a BROTHER printer after error 46)

      Best regards to all.

    Hello,

To improve print quality, you need to clean the print head (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow), adjust the vertical alignment, and/or replace the ink cartridges.

To determine which print head needs to be cleaned and whether the alignment needs adjustment, perform a print quality test by following these steps: https://support.brother.com/g/b/producttop.aspx?c=fr&lang=fr&prod=dcp340cw2_eu

    You can contact Brother technical support: Consumer Technical Support 01 49 90 61 09 or Distribution Network Technical Support 08 92 68 41 09.

    Hello,
just a word to say thank you for your response. I haven't been able to do what is necessary yet because I need to print the advice, and the friend with the working printer has gone on vacation. I will return to the forum as soon as I can.

    Hello everyone,
During my "absence" from the forum (a bit long, please forgive me..) I tried your advice
    Camille7679 - no result.
I went to the Brother website and tested the advice in the FAQs - still no result.
puces2nîmes I would need you or the Brother Advisor again if you see this message. I tested the advice given in the video in English. The print head cannot be opened, so I injected into the small opening under the cartridge. Is that OK? For the moment NOTHING has come out.
Please confirm if the procedure is correct. I will wait until tomorrow to try again. What should I do if nothing comes out after a second injection??
