Hello;
Not long ago, I bought a second-hand Acer Aspire 5742G (Intel Core i5, 8GB DDR3, etc...)
A little later, my computer was incredibly slow, the mouse would often freeze (unable to move it...), some programs wouldn't open, etc...
But fortunately (or not), the seller had provided me with a System Restore (Acer eRecovery Management v7.7.6)! So I launched it and selected to reset Windows (7) while keeping my files.
And then there was a loading process with two parts, but the computer freezes at 99% of the last part! I tried overnight for nearly 20 hours.
So I turned off the computer and started Windows anyway; I saw "Windows is starting services" for 30 minutes, then
the computer automatically restarted before displaying again
"Setup is starting services," and then
Etc...
HELP ME PLEASE

Windows Setup could configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware.

Hello
I have the same issue (system restore at 100% but system update stuck at 99%)
what can I do? Windows 7 won't boot so I no longer have access to the control panel.
Moreover, I went through the recovery partition to perform the restore (ALT F10)... I do not understand this bug. -

The restoration DVDs should be at least 3 + 1 for the drivers.
On the other hand, do you still have the system restore cache partition?
To check, go to Control Panel
then Administration
Computer Management
Disk Management, and on the left you'll see your partitions:
one of 18 GB for restoration, hashed,
one system 100 MB,
then C: Windows
D: Data,
etc...
What matters is restoration.
Then close everything.
