dvd stuck in Freebox Solved/Closed

Question

Having the Freebox v6 from Free, I wanted to insert a DVD into the Blu-ray player, but unfortunately, it won't come out even after a reset and restart. Does anyone have a solution to retrieve it before I call customer service, probably leading to a return?

Hi,

Method tested multiple times and that works 8 times out of 10:

Unplug the player electrically.
Turn it upside down.
Once upside down, plug it back in while tapping on it. (underneath actually since it's upside down)
The player should eject the DVD.

Sometimes you need to try several times, huh...

P.S.: then call 3244 to get the player exchanged for a faulty DVD player.

I don't know much about the Freebox, but isn't there a small hole on the front of the player to insert a paperclip to eject the DVD manually?

Read

from what I've read on the Free forums, it insists
while turning off and on, also press the reset button on the back

check if the player is also up to date
because there have been updates in the past that corrected this bug

I wanted to insist but here is the DVD and it's stuck inside and doesn't want to come out using the normal methods. Do you have a remedy before I send the Free back, as I don’t know if I will get my disc back? Thanks in advance.

Well, I put the remedy above  but if it’s fundamentally material, it won’t be of any use your reader seems to be out of order    -- A crowded elevator will always feel different for a dwarf

Good evening,

As far as I'm concerned, the same problem.
DVD borrowed from the media library, so I have to pay full price if my children don't return it.
I've tried all the manipulations suggested in this topic without any success.
Upon rebooting the TV box, sometimes the player is recognized and sometimes it's not.
When it is, sometimes I can click on "insert a disc" and it plays it, but most of the time I get this message...

In any case, it's impossible to get the disc out.
I plan to call Free tomorrow morning to ask them how it works if I have to refund this damn DVD... And obviously, to ask them to send a technician to replace it rather than asking me to return the box for replacement.
