Amazon Premium: unwanted bank charges

Hello,

I noticed a credit card transaction on my account for an amount of 49 Euros titled "AMAZON PREMIUM". I contacted the bank to get more details. At the presumed date and time of this transaction, I was hiking in the Saou massif in the Drôme.

If this transaction was indeed initiated by AMAZON, it's not very honest of them: I have made a few purchases on this site, but I have never checked or authorized anything that would allow them to take money from me almost without my knowledge. It's safe to say that they have lost a customer with me...

You need to stop saying it's a scam when you are the only ones in the wrong.

You are the ones who accepted Amazon's offer without reading the terms that are clearly displayed on the site, and it is still you who forgot to cancel this paid option even though you could have done it from the very first day without losing the remaining days of the trial, and Amazon sends you an email 3 days before the trial deadline to remind you.

Be a little more confident, sir.
This is indeed an illegal method... There is no need to subscribe to their service for them to feel entitled to charge you!
Moreover, this is not a direct debit but a payment by credit card made without the owner's knowledge.
What is even more frightening is that this means Amazon keeps the security code of your card in order to process the payment of 49 euros...

Just look at the speed of the refunds and the kindness of the call center representatives to understand that they are not in the right!

It is indeed a scam in that the consent is not explicit. At no time did I agree to pay €49 per year. I think, but unfortunately I have no evidence, that I accepted a free trial of Prime while I was placing an order, via an unexpected popup during the order process. But I received no email explicitly informing me "your free trial period is over, your premium subscription continues for €49 per year"

And that's a scam, and not a small one given the scale we're talking about. Amazon has 100 million Prime subscribers. How many have subscribed without their full consent? Even if it's 0.5%, that’s a scam of €24 million!!! And you still claim that it’s not a scam?

What naivety!!! It’s people like you who enable these unscrupulous web giants to thrive!
