fatal error c0000034 hp windows 7 computer freezes Solved

Question

Hello,

I am quite desperate to see my computer working again. I am not very skilled and new to the forum, so thank you in advance for forgiving my ignorance.
So here is my problem: the day after an automatic update of Windows 7 on my HP, I received an error message "fatal error c 0000034 during automatic update 207 on .....".
When I turned on my computer a second time, it displayed the HP recovery manager. I took precautions and backed up my files (worried about losing all my photos), then while reading the forums, I saw that I needed to perform a system restore to an earlier date, but this restoration only offers "Windows 7 service pack 1" even if I check "show other restore points".
I don't dare to continue for fear of making mistakes.
Thank you to anyone who can assist me; the internet is working, so I can read your responses on my tablet (which is saving me in this situation....)

If I find someone in my acquaintances who has Windows 7 or 8 software, will there be an issue when I put in the installation CD? Because I don't feel at all like opening my computer to take out the hard drive; I think it's best to leave that to the professionals!

Hello,

I believe that you have no other solution because by default, I'm not sure that the restore points are configured on W7.
If you don't want to lose any data, retrieve your hard drive and connect it as a secondary drive on another PC, then you'll have access to your data.
All you have to do is recover all your photos and other files.
Once all the files are recovered, reinstall your Windows 7 by putting the hard drive back into your original PC.

It should normally go smoothly, try to see if someone can do it for you.

In my opinion, the ideal would be to boot from a Windows 7 installation CD and perform a system repair, which is very effective since Windows 7.

Unfortunately, these CDs are no longer provided with new computers (which is a pity, by the way).

Fortunately, it's not just professionals who can do this, but I understand your concerns.
Apparently, it is the Windows files that have been corrupted, meaning they were improperly modified during the update, so they need to be repaired.
If you created the recovery DVDs, you can try using those. Some offer repairs. However, a restoration will certainly repair Windows but may risk deleting all your data.

When you say that all my data will be deleted, I suppose that means my computer will be restored to the state it was in when I bought it, without all the apps or software I had downloaded? Do I need to unplug the printer, monitor, sound, webcam... or can I leave them connected since the computer will automatically recognize them when I insert the Windows CD?

You understood everything, restoring with the DVDs means returning the computer to the state it was in when you purchased it.
I don't see any reason to unplug everything; for example, it is often advised to start the installation of your webcam using the provided CD and to connect it only when prompted. Now Windows 7 is really good for peripherals, so it shouldn't cause any issues. Anyway, it won't interfere with the restoration.
Being particular as I am, I would have unplugged ... but oh well ^^

Thank you, I will try to find a Windows CD because mine was integrated into the computer, and I will follow your advice at least for the webcam.
As soon as I can do all that, I will keep you updated if it worked.

In my opinion, you should have a system recovery partition on your PC, because it is already offering you a system restore. If I understood everything correctly?

Indeed, in the HP recovery manager that appears automatically, I have 3 choices: Microsoft restoration / system restoration, and another option whose title I no longer remember (computer is off and not on site), but which concerns Microsoft.
Perhaps I should perform a system restoration?

Here I am back with some ....good news, I found my computer
For your information, I did a system restore with the HP manager while crossing my fingers and ....unplugging my peripherals. Everything started working again, I reinstalled my peripherals with their CDs, my software ...
Now I just need to recover my personal backup files because they are in wim files

Great!

Now that everything is working, I recommend creating an image of your PC to avoid the same hassle. That way, you'll be sure not to lose anything.

You'll find several software options online; in fact, I think Windows 7 can do it. Personally, I use Acronis (paid).
