unable to update google chrome Solved

Question

Hello, I can't update Google Chrome. When I try, the following message appears:
Update failed (error: 7) An error occurred while checking for updates: Unable to update Google Chrome due to inconsistent Google Update group policy settings. Please use the Group Policy Editor to set the alternative update policy for the Google Chrome Binaries application, and then try again.

I'm a bit lost.

Hello, I had the same problem, and on another help site, I found the solution.

In the top right corner, there are 3 small black bars, click on them, then go down: "about Google", and as soon as you enter it, the update starts by itself.

I have the solution for you, it will allow you to avoid a manual uninstallation since the automatic mode is not recommended. So here it is...

a) Type "regedit" in the field to access the registry editor
b) Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\
c) Once in google update change the value of these two files

* google/update : DisableAutoUpdateChecksCheckboxValue from 1 to 0
* Update{8A69D345-D564-463C-AFF1-A69D9E530F96} from 0 to 1

I had this problem, now it works wonderfully, plus it will take you at most two minutes
