Antivirus scan failure

Hello,
I have a problem, every time I download a file or anything, it says this: The antivirus software encountered an unexpected error while scanning this file. So I cannot open the file, who has the answer to this problem?

Yes, I have already tried, but the problem persists. My antivirus is AVG Antivirus version Free 2013.

Download issue: ANTIVIRUS ANALYSIS FAILURE

I had exactly the same problem, no more download options, I tried everything I read here and elsewhere but nothing worked, and foolishly I remembered that two antivirus programs could conflict, so I searched my PC for a second antivirus other than Windows Defender and I found McAfee WebAdvisor, so I did:

1. Control panel

2. All programs

3. I scrolled through the list

4. I clicked on WebAdvisor and chose to uninstall it completely

5. I waited for the complete uninstallation and then clicked on finish

6. I turned off and restarted the PC and there, eureka, everything was back in order and I can download everything again.

Hello

Indeed this question is from 2013 but it is still relevant and thankfully so because thanks to the answer provided by lilou, I was finally able to download again on my PC. I encountered the same problem without finding a solution and by following her explanations, I was able to resolve it!
