Hello,
I'm sorry to ask this question for the umpteenth time, but after spending my afternoon reading forums and trying everything suggested, I'm at my wit's end and opening my own thread.
My problem concerns the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
Out of the blue, the issue appeared: the image is no longer stretched in full-screen mode; instead, there's a black frame to fill in.
Of course, the resolution is not the native one for my screen, which is 1600x900, but if I want a lower resolution, it's to improve performance and thus be able to play smoothly.
- I checked my graphics card driver, it's always up to date. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it.
(I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500/5100 Series
version 8.970.100.3000)
There are settings with Catalyst Control Center talking about native resolution to enable a grayed-out scaling option, but without success. And the right-click on our screen icon to access "Configure" simply doesn't show up.
- I uninstalled and reinstalled the game.
Since this happened overnight, I don't think the solution is far off; perhaps a few right-clicks here and there should suffice, but I'm not very knowledgeable about this.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I accidentally solved my problem, and I allow myself to provide the solution for those who may need it by describing everything I did:
- I launch the game
- right-click on the desktop > Screen resolution > Resolution = switch from 1600x900 to 1024x600 (desired resolution in the game); then Display > switch from "Extend these displays" (dual screen) to "Show only desktop 1"
This automatically set my screen back to 1600x900 and the game to 1024x600 without black borders!!
