Hello,
Nikon Coolpix S9100 stuck, I turn it on, everything displays correctly on the screen, the lens comes out; but no button is operational, to turn it off I have to remove the battery.
Thank you in advance.

No error message? From what I could see, it's a software issue. You need to remove the battery. There are no other solutions in what I've read.

Hello,
I had the same problem as you: Nikon S9100 bought in May 2012. First freeze without error message in July 2013: the camera turns on, the zoom extends, but no buttons work - I had to remove the battery to turn off the device. Since the camera was under warranty ([FNAC]), they replaced the optical unit. And then again this summer in July 2014, same problem... with that same little motor noise trying to turn but unable to settle... but no more warranty... So I consulted other forums and concluded that the "pichnette" that worked for other models might work for mine... So I tried several "pichnettes," and finally, with nothing to lose, I gave that damn device a good smack, and it decided to start functioning correctly... Go figure...
