Hello!
I have a Fuji S5000 that has never had any functional issues. However, for no apparent reason, when I tried to use it today, it was impossible to take a picture: the LCD stays white. I tested everything, but nothing works. Do you have any leads?
Thank you very much!

re-Hello,
it seems (which is not surprising) that it's a CCD problem, the repair seems to be covered.

good luck to everyone.

Hello everyone,
Is the same problem happening here? I contacted Fuji Belgium, who refuses any free intervention, but there’s no problem with paid service.
It costs €175!!!!!!!
Moral: I'm buying another one, but definitely not a Fuji.

Fuji does not take responsibility for the errors and poor quality of their product components, as it is certain that for the s5000 the sensor is far too faulty. Whether guaranteed or not, it is not the brave customers who should bear the costs of these inherent defects. By purchasing other brands AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, you will find cheaper and much more reliable options. For example, Panasonic has very, very good products (I'm not advertising, I've simply tested many brands).
Same here, I had this problem at the end of summer 2007, the device was two and a half years old, so no longer under warranty...
Apparently their CCD sensor is faulty but no coverage...
It's easier to understand why the extended warranties to 4 years have become so widespread!

Hello
I am in the same situation as you; I have a black screen with snow in photo mode. I bought 2 at the time, another for my parents, and they have a black screen too, but without the snow. The failures occurred in October as well. One might think it's programmed to break down after a certain time. I haven't found any solutions. I think the sensors have failed.

I had the same problem, I changed the rechargeable batteries (I bought new ones)! Then nothing!
Try this, it might work!

Hello,
same here.. It seems like a seasonal illness, my screen isn't white, but it shows a distorted image... if I take a photo, the image looks the same as on the screen.

I have the same issue with my S5000.
I don't understand: is it a male issue? Do they have to repair it even out of warranty?
