Problem with portable DVD player screen TR707DX

Hello,

I connected my DVD player TR707DX to the TV to watch a movie on a big screen without any problem, but when I tried to play a movie later on the player I only get a blank screen. However, the sound works.
Is it a setting issue with the player, or something more serious...

Thanks for your answers

    Hello,
After investigation I found that the defect is a problem with the screen’s power supply.
There is a power supply above the board, about 10cm x 2cm, that generates 15V and a negative voltage (-2 or -4V) that is floating.
Apparently a surface-mount regulator or a TRIAC named KY2H3 is faulty and no longer generates 2V DC. It therefore needs to be replaced and it should work again... the answer next week when I receive the implicated component. For information, it seems that the 12V or 9V power supply is at the origin of the problem during repeated outages (power outlet contact or DVD drive socket), which is what fried it in my case.
This KY2H3 does not seem common; I will give you a compatible one as soon as I have the right one. I’ll attempt a makeshift repair to see if my diagnosis proves correct (98% chance that this is it and nothing else).

    To be continued ....

      Hello,
To keep the kids entertained on a long trip, I borrowed a portable DVD player from friends.
Unfortunately, after a bathroom break on the highway, the screen would no longer reboot.
Just like yours, the sound is present, only the screen stays light gray.
The warranty has been expired for 6 months.
If your repair worked, I would be very interested in the details.
      Thank you!

Hello, I’m coming to see you because I’ve just encountered a problem with my screen turning white.
I saw that you talked about an issue with a regulator burned out... is that what it is? have you done the repair and could you give me the exact references for this component? with a photo if possible. Thank you in advance.

    Hello,

I have exactly the same problem. After watching 3 DVDs on the device, the screen stays white but I can hear the sound. If I connect it to the TV with the provided cable, it works correctly.

Have you solved the problem? Did you have to send it to after-sales service (SAV)?

Thank you in advance for your reply

    Best regards
