Hi everyone.
I recently encountered a big problem with my Peekton PK6006 black DVD/DivX player.
After not being used for about 2 weeks (having powered off the rear power switch during this period), I tried to play a disc yesterday, so I pressed the power button again, and there, the small screen on the front of the player lights up blue as usual, but there is nothing written on it, plus no button works!
I unplugged it and plugged it back in, nothing works.
Does anyone have an interesting solution to propose?
Thanks in advance!

I have the same problem as you and I have no solution...
Fortunately the remote control works !!!-
I think it's a low-end DVD player, peekton is a brand I didn't know but it doesn't seem great! I have exactly the same one, it’s now 6 years old but I think mine is broken! I haven't used it for 6 months; it was completely unplugged and until the day I wanted to use it it wouldn't restart! So now it stays on all the time in the ON position with the little blue screen on, even when I'm not using it. I have no choice because when I put it in standby and 2 minutes later I turn it back on there are loud whines, flickers, garbled sound and it lasts for half an hour until it warms up a bit but I think the reading lens is dead given the effect it has on the sound! It's amazing! So Peekton disappointed me anyway despite the device's aesthetics; I won't buy this brand again! Because 6 years seems like a pretty short lifespan for this kind of device that I paid 55 or 60 euros for in 2005!

Contact your after-sales service!!!!! Your device should be under warranty for 2 weeks, right???
....................................arffff ................pffffffffff..........there is nothing there!!!! -
voir avec votre service après-vente !!!!! 2 semaines, votre appareil doit être sous garantie non ???
....................................arffff ................pffffffffff..........il n’y a rien là !!!! -
It's good, the after-sales service directly replaced the device.
But it wasn't easy since I had lost the receipt! -
Indeed, I had the problem
I bought a 6006 HDMI player in March 2007, at first great but it wears out rather quickly apparently and when I want Peekton to intervene, they only respond after 4 to 5 days and always renew the same sentence without ever taking my opinion into account.
The return of the player is at my expense and they send it back repaired or new but only if you have an address in France.
I find that discriminatory, especially since when I ordered from one of their retailers, this detail was never mentioned to me or even written.
On Peekton's site, there are many partners but I invite you to see if they still sell their brand; out of the 12 listed on the site, 4 have already withdrawn their products from sale.
Oh yes, it is guaranteed for 2 years, I don’t care if I can’t recover it.
The company that sold it to me asks me to return it at my expense and requires a 4-week processing time to assess the problem and then return it to me or give me a check for the equivalent amount excluding shipping, and this company, Pixmania for the city, no longer sells this brand and refuses to tell me why!
I think there is a need to be very wary of this brand.
Peekton does not respect European rules and I have even written a letter to the EU about it.
I wanted my experience to prevent another person from getting stung again.
Peekton, NEVER AGAIN
Michel-
Hello Michel, My HDD DVD player just broke down after 1 year and 9 months. I’m lucky because it’s still under warranty. I contacted PEEKTON by email and, as if by coincidence, they have extended the warranty to one year for all purchases from September 1, 2007!! Weird, right!! I’d really like to have your letter to do what’s necessary to get things moving as well. On my side, I’ve sent a copy of my letter to PEEKTON to the relevant consumer services. That way they’ll be forced to move quickly. It’s good that consumers are mobilizing to change these brands that sell consumer products! Fortunately I didn’t pay the full price!! Thank you!! Best regards. Novice27

Contact me by email and I will give you my information regarding my concerns and solutions.
Best regards. -
Hello,
For the solution, I had to send it back to after-sales service so they could reset it. Unluckily, it was blocked by a format it couldn’t read.
Personally, I’d like everyone who had a problem with Peekton to get together and start a petition, because for a supposedly super-effective product, we’ve all had a lot of issues.
I’m waiting for your letters. -
and for me too, problem of "no disc" after 2 years of good and loyal service.
It doesn’t want to read anything anymore and I’m wondering if a good cleaning disc would do the trick...
Obviously I suspect that more than one before me has thought about it so... -
I can see that everyone has the same problem but no one moves to come together to file a complaint with the fraud repression authority, UFC-Que Choisir, and 60 Million Consumers. Peekton is having a good laugh because we all pay something for a device that is still under warranty.
So let's mobilize once and for all!! -
