Free: Associating with the Freebox server in progress Solved

Question

Hello,  I've been with Free for 10 years and I've just acquired the new Freebox V6. Everything works fine except for the TV. Like many, I'm having synchronization issues with the Freebox server...  Before writing, I did all the tests suggested in the forum, direct connection via cable, not using a power strip, etc... nothing works. The worst part is that when I hold down for 2 seconds or 30 seconds on one of the Freeplug units, I never get to the stage where it blinks, and let's not even talk about the green light.  If anyone has an idea, I'm all ears! Thanks :-)    Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 8.0

Hello, you need to press the button on both Freeplugs for about ten seconds until they blink for both, then press again for two seconds and it should turn green. You can also switch them, the one from the Server to the Player and vice versa to see if that works.

You just need to unplug and reconnect the Ethernet connections (network cables) in the same place ;-)  If that doesn’t work, press the button on each Freeplug for 10 seconds until they start flashing, then press again for two seconds and they should turn green!

Good evening, I still see a lot of problems like this; most of the time, all you have to do is unplug the RJ45 cable from the powerline adapters and connect the server and the player directly with an RJ45 network cable (supplied with the box). Then the firmware update happens automatically without any issues. You then turn off and restart the player and everything is fine. When the two devices are far apart, you can use the powerline adapters, but if they are next to each other, it's better to keep the RJ45 cable between the two.

on your Freebox TV => you press the button for 15 seconds... then you release it... you press the button again for 2 seconds... and you release it... normally the box blinks...  at the same time (while it blinks on your Freebox TV) you do exactly the same thing on your Freebox internet box  You wait... and normally it synchronizes by itself.  In any case, it just worked for me.  Best regards,

Hello, try pressing the 2 buttons on the boxes connected to your media box if both are not green. To resynchronize them, hold for about 3 seconds and wait. If that’s not enough, swap the network cables of the boxes (just the network cables). It worked for me.

Association with the Freebox server in progress => I'd like to add my own solution that hasn't been mentioned, as people still look at these posts even after several years (me for example :p)  Personally, I found that the twisted ethernet cable with the power supply was defective. I connected an ethernet cable directly linking the Freebox TV to the Freebox and I finally got the firmware update. No ETH cable on the freeplug. Directly from one box to the other.  In this case, either the twisted ethernet cable with the supplied power is defective (this happens much more often than we think, even when new). Or the Ethernet socket is defective. Or it comes from your electrical installation since the network supplied to the Freebox TV runs through electricity. In this case, you can bring the two boxes closer together and, like me, connect the FreeTV directly to the Freebox via Ethernet.  I think that covers everything!   -- G E E K E E T T E       o/
