Hello,
I have a Dell Vostro 1015 laptop with Windows installed from the factory, or so I believe. The system crashed and I want to reinstall another operating system, but every time I try, I receive a message like: "Cannot install Windows on this disk." When I check the details to see the reasons, I find this message: "The hardware of this computer may not support booting from this disk. Please check that the disk controller is enabled in the BIOS menu of the computer."
However, I've never used a SATA hard drive before and I'm not an expert in maintenance. So, I don't know what I should do.
Please help me activate or deactivate the hard disk controller in the BIOS if necessary.
Thank you very much in advance, and have a nice day everyone.
