Hello,

while using my computer, it crashed and I got the message "bootmgr ..."

the hard drives appear in the BIOS but I can't boot either from the HDD or from the Windows DVD which does contain the bootmgr file

I reset the BIOS on the motherboard with no success

is the motherboard dead?

    Re...

You say you have two hard drives, so the solution is to disconnect the one on which you don't want Seven. Then you boot from the Seven DVD and choose to Repair the startup system.

Once done, you restart your PC, enter the setup to prioritize the boot menu on the hard drive. Confirm the change with the F10 key and normally it should be fine.

If I unplug the second hard drive, I can't boot at all with F8,
it only boots from this drive, not from the new one or the DVD

and on my DVD there is no repair option, only reinstall.

F8 is not the key that gives you access to the setup, so it's normal that it doesn't work if you remove the hard drive.

Accessing the BIOS to modify the boot menu is most often done with F2, Delete, and once in the BIOS, reset the default settings to see what happens.

Can I have someone who knows a bit, please!

Just by going through the BIOS (Delete for me), I cannot boot from the DVD, only F8 allows me to boot as I explained.
