Solved

Hello everyone.
So, my problem is that ever since I installed SP2, my Windows audio service stops at random times. I restart it, but it will stop again after a certain amount of time. I've searched for a patch on the Microsoft site but found nothing, and Google hasn’t helped either (unless I'm just not using the right search keywords, who knows). Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you

ps: HAPPY NEW YEAR
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.1

The problem is easy to solve; the only issue is that the sound cuts out unexpectedly. One solution to fix this problem is, first, to restart the sound:
Start>>Run>>type "services.msc" and press OK
Then select "Windows Audio">> right-click, if the sound is off click on "Start", otherwise go to "Properties".
In "Startup type" choose Automatic. There, the sound is restarted, and here's how to prevent it from happening again in the second step: still in "Windows Audio", go to the "Recovery" tab and select "Restart the service" in each of the drop-downs. That's how I was able to fix my problem; I hope I have helped you.

Thank you very much for your solution, which I hope will be correct in contrast to the absurdities found on other forums.
I used to restart the service manually, but now that I have changed the service property, I will see if it doesn’t happen again within a day or two.
Once again, thank you, and I will keep you updated.

Hello to you, fanfangood, I've tried everything you've explained, I followed your instructions to the letter but it still doesn't work!!
When I try to start Audio Windows it shows an error window.
(error 1068: The service or group of dependencies failed to start)
Please help me!!
It's driving me crazy.
Thank you in advance, A+ ciao
