Excel/Printer Issue

Hello,

I recently had a problem with my PC running Vista 32-bit, specifically with the graphics card. The repairman reinstalled the operating system, and he installed Windows 7 - 64-bit.
I reinstalled my printer driver (a HP Photosmart C5390) for Windows 7. I can print photos, Word documents, PDFs, web pages... but I'm having issues with Excel. I can print very small files, but as soon as I have a table (even without formulas) or a file with formulas, I can't do a print preview or print. I get an error message saying that it might be a memory issue or a network problem. Since printing works fine with other programs, I've ruled out the network issue.
How can I check if it's a memory problem, and if so, how can I fix it?

Thanks in advance!

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 12.0

Hello,

in the control panel 'system / advanced system settings / performance / settings... / advanced / virtual memory / change...'
check if you have one or more drives with 'system managed', the available space, and especially that you do not have 'no paging file' selected. If you're not sure, set it to 'automatically manage'.

I followed your instructions, I tried with the "system managed" option and "automatic management," but it still doesn't work.
The page file size for all drives is 4095 MB (recommended 6142 MB). That's enough, right?

Yes, absolutely.
Is it not for a particular xls file by any chance?
Otherwise, no other ideas...

I have the same problem with .xls or .xlsx files (I'm using Office 2007).
I'm going to reinstall the Office suite, maybe that will fix things...

Thank you for your help!

I reinstalled Office, I fiddled around with the printing options in Excel, and I managed to print my files! So everything is fine now :)
Thanks again.

Hello
I have almost the same problem with Excel files (2003 or 2010) that I retrieved from my old PC via a USB stick. All my other types of files print without issue, as do my new Excel sheets...
Whether it's a table with or without links, whether I keep them updated or break them, it's the same:
First, a small window opens: Printer selection with a list, where the correct printer is checked, and I have to hit OK five times to make it go away.
Then when the table appears, it's grayed out (Outside Print Area), and nothing I do can redefine the Print Area.
When I try to print anyway, of course the preview is not available, and printing is impossible.
I turned off and restarted the PC and printer, still nothing.
I tried the procedure from eriiic, with no success!
Help, anyone?

I specify that my old PC was running on Windows XP, while the current one is on Windows 7 64-bit, but until now I had never encountered this issue.
