Hello,

I can recover my BIOS using a floppy disk reader and the bootblock file, but there are two different methods for AMI and AWRD.
How can I tell if the BIOS is AMI or AWRD????
Thank you

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.17

In general, when starting the PC, there is an indication of the BIOS brand. Otherwise, you enter the BIOS to get this information.

You need to use a floppy disk drive to update the BIOS; it's probably a very old PC. Otherwise, in the new motherboards used in France, only Gigabyte still uses AWARD BIOS, while the others (ASUS, Asrock, MSI) use AMI BIOS.

The problem is that I can flash the BIOS but the flashing is interrupted (power cut)
now my laptop shows nothing when I start it, for this I want to try this bootblock method.

    Hello,

There are 3 types of BIOS:

    - Phoenix BIOS
    - AMI BIOS
    - Award BIOS

Visit the following link and download the provided utility:
