Battery charger overheating

Hello,

I just acquired a charger for an HP laptop, and I notice that it gets quite hot to the point where you can't really hold it in your hand.

So, I would like to know if this is a normal phenomenon or if there's something fishy going on?

    Thank you for your response, but I didn't say untouchable, especially not at first touch; rather, it's by delaying the touch that we feel the heat more

    Anyway, I just saw a laptop repair specialist, and he told me that it's perfectly normal for the charger to heat up even after just a few minutes
