Hello,
here is my issue,
I bought this NDAS-style box from the Storex brand:
www.storex.fr/storex/htm/sc [...] 20NDAS-350
CLUB NDAS 350 de 400G0
The problem is that in USB mode no problem it is detected;
but when I connect it to my LAN (Linksys wa54gc-wifi router) I can’t reach it.
From my workstations (on XP); I have the software provided with it installed on my PC, unfortunately the LED stays red on my Storex NDAS !!
Can someone explain to me how to configure it ??
On my PC with the utility provided by Storex I get the message "box unplugged !!!".
Thank you for your help I am lost;
my question being how to reach it via my secure wifi network ???
How to configure it ?? I don’t have any active firewall software !!
I specify that I am connected to an ADSL network via Free in router mode disabled since I go through my local Linksys router (I don’t know if this info can help), and that the RJ45 network outlet LED is green indeed.
Thank you in advance for your help to everyone.

I found: it’s a driver incompatibility with the Star-Force protection on my PC...!!!! I removed the protection and it works like a charm!!
Hello,
Like many people, and it’s very unfortunate, I returned my NDAS-350 and got a refund.
From now on, I work with a Western Digital MyBook World Edition and it frankly has nothing in common with it; let's say it works… quite simply, where the NDAS (and especially its documentation) told us the same thing… in theory!
A yellow card for STOREX nonetheless, when I think one of my main motivations was that it was a French company...
For info, if you’re on Mac, there’s no solution between the NDAS-350 and Mac via AirPort, it’s pathetic and really unfortunate :(

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem. Before changing the hardware, I was able to access it but at 64 Kbps!!!
If you have an answer, I would be grateful if you pass it along to me. **Same here, if I find the solution, I will send it to you. Let’s stay united in the face of adversity :-)

Well I’m in the same boat as you but with a Livebox and it’s seriously starting to annoy me
Yes, let’s stay united in this mess, not possible!!! :-)

Hello,
Is the software provided with the NDAS HDD from Ximeta?
How did you install it and do you have an NDAS ID and a KEY on the WIRED (the commonly used name for Ethernet network)?
Depending on your answers, I may be able to help you.

Same problem for me; I just bought this hard drive and it’s impossible to connect it to the network. USB2 works fine, but the drive isn’t recognized over Ethernet. Thanks STOREX and its useless explanations in the manual. I’ve never seen anything so shitty. Made in RPC !!!!
To respond to Gadjo, what I forgot to do in my previous message, yes, it is indeed Ximeta software. Is there a solution to the problem? If yes, it is welcome. By the way, is a router absolutely necessary? because in that case, the problem might come from there, and I’m issuing a huge MEA CULPA. I don’t have a router, and the hard drive is connected to my network hub.
Hello everyone,
I just bought a Cinbox from Cibox (a multimedia external hard drive) that has the NDAS function on Ethernet and Wi-Fi. I launched the program that came with it (Xineta software for netdisk and other NDAS drives version 3.11.1327-X86-ENU). The software installed fine -> no problem there.
Where things get tricky is after reboot (at the end of the installation) XP tells me that new hardware has been detected, so I follow the default driver installation for the NDAS drive and it!! during the middle of the PC’s wild reboot... I’ve tried several times: same thing, what should I do?
Thanks in advance

I have a big problem with a We Digital 320GB blackbox
I just bought a We Digital 320GB blackbox (an external multimedia hard drive) that has NDAS functionality over Ethernet and Wi-Fi. I launched the software provided with it (Xineta software for NetDisk and other NDAS drives version 3.20.1523). The software installed fine -> no problem at this stage.
Where it gets complicated is after reboot (at the end of the installation) XP kindly tells me that new hardware is detected, so I follow the default driver installation for the NDAS drive and it !! during the middle of the installation a wild PC reboot... I have tried several times: same thing, what to do?
In fact, is it the mounting for read/write that crashes?
It seems this could be due to a driver incompatibility with StarForce protection; what is that? how to verify?
NB: The installation on my XP2 laptop with a crossed RJ45 cable went smoothly.

Check your ID and your key on the device; for us it was different from the one in the manual. Once the code was entered under the device, the hard drive worked from the first try ...
I confirm, I had the same problem!
The ID and the KEY written on the CD sleeve were not the same as those located under the hard drive.
With those from the hard drive: nickel.

I had the same ID/Key problem on a disk different from the one in the box!!! There it works... Except that:
- the Storex Club-NDAS-350 is sold as a network drive, even under Linux. I wonder how one can access it with Linux if not by installing it on a Windows PC and mounting the share... what a crock.
- Storex support told me off 3 times (one time I called about the key issue and the other two for not using their proprietary protocol anymore...) and I assure you I was very polite with the people.
- it is marketed as a network solution whereas it is only a RJ45 connector... in no way TCP/IP management... Does anyone know if the firmware can be updated to finally assign an IP to this thing?
If anyone's interested, I’m selling mine (on for only 3 days, still with protective films...). Compared to what the spec sheet on the sales site claimed: it’s a scam!!!!
Hello,
I have also just bought a Cinebox that I’m trying to connect via WIFI.
My setup is as follows: Neuf box router on WIFI, a PC (XP) on WIFI, the Cinebox on WIFI.
The Cinebox connects well to the wifi network according to the interface, but from the NDAS utility that I installed on the PC, I can’t see the drive.
Is it necessary to configure the XP firewall??
Do you have any ideas???
(I’m using the IDs and keys that are on the drive)
Thanks
Mathieu

Hello,
When I bought my Cinebox, it was for the wifi.
With an ethernet cable, no problem because the ID and the Key under the Cinebox correspond to ethernet.
I searched for a long time for the WiFi ID and Key: it is hidden under the hard drive tray, so you have to remove the tape that guarantees the warranty.
With the ID and the proper Key, no problem
I hope this is the answer you were looking for.
Now, I share a directory on my PC and I can watch my movies over WiFi without them being saved on the Cinebox.

There is a new software from XIMETA for these drives; the version is 3.20.1523. I also read that Wi-Fi is not supported on certain routers, e.g., Linksys WAG54AG if I remember correctly. Personally, I use it with a D-Link DI-524 over Wi-Fi with WPA-PSK enabled, as well as over Ethernet. My four machines can connect to the drive simultaneously in "read-write" mode. Also, the new software is only for Windows 2000 and XP, and the drive is NTFS only, not FAT32.
Hello,
I have read carefully everything that was written above, and I found there everything I could find on other forums. I would add that besides issues with id / key, there can be problems with the hard drive’s jumper (knowing that the manual says to set it to master but some only work in master/slave), firewall / antivirus issues, case sensitivity issues, ...
Anyway, despite all that my Cibox stays red in the NDAS management utility, but I’ve only been on this for 24 hours while others have spent several days, so I’m not too worried :P
Hoping to have helped some people like me who have no other way out than waiting for a “bright one” to find a solution.

well and there you go, I found how to solve my problem of DD with the red icon (disconnected) under NDAS. for those interested ;)
at the moment of saving the DD with the ID and the key, I just entered the product key, whereas it is possible to save the hardware without it. Without the key the DD is only usable in read-only. In short I validate the ID without the key and there, miracle, this bloody (to stay polite) icon turned white!! The DD is now visible in My Computer even though it's connected to RJ45 (the purpose of NDAS). After that I went into the product properties, and I entered my key, and bingo, the icon turns blue, readable and writable :D
I guess it works fine wired or without wifi.
For those whose NDAS software gives problems, register your product without the key, and add it later from the properties once the product is registered, it worked for me! (thanks to Tazou, my savior :D )
regards
ps, I am nevertheless greatly disappointed, I chose the CIbox among other things for its RJ45 port, but one must admit that the USB2 port is much faster than the Ethernet network for this product, I am really disappointed. I will now update the firmware but I doubt that will change anything!

I also had the issue of recognizing the hard drive via NDAS, whereas via USB there was no problem.
Now it works because I just did the following manipulation on the hard drive: I moved the jumper to the back of the drive to declare it as the MASTER drive!!! and not as slave as it was....

Hello. I have a problem with my AKASA Integral external hard drive; my PC doesn’t recognize it. I would like to know what I should do?
