Convert a router into a switch

Hello,

I recently added a router to my network because I have more computers, and I want to save on buying a switch.

Here is the network plan:

Both the router and the router-switch have the same base address of 192.168.1.1 and operate via DHCP.

Everything works, but the problem is that computers sometimes connect to the router-switch instead of directly to the router. As a result, those computers have no internet access. I noticed this issue by typing 192.168.1.1 in my address bar and logging in (admin / password): the computers that have no internet reach the configuration of the router-switch while those that do have internet access the configuration of the router.

What is this due to?

Thank you in advance! :-)

Hello!

You need to change the LAN IP of the router-switch to a free address in the addressing scheme of the only real router.

And you need to disable the DHCP server on the router-switch. There should only be one DHCP server on your local network: The only real router.
