Hello, I bought a Logitech laser wireless mouse 3 years ago, it works very well today but it "squeaks" when I click on the left button.

Do you know a remedy? Knowing that I have never cleaned it from the inside.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Safari 535.2

I was saying that for maxime5723 (in the title). Indeed, if yours is new, your case is still rare. Yes, it's definitely better to return to the store.

Hi,

10 minutes in a box with a cat and we'll talk about it no more ;)

But seriously, I doubt that the "squeaking" is due to dust/grime accumulated over time; I would lean more towards wear of the plastic of the button that produces the "squeaking" due to friction.

Okay, and aside from smashing it against a wall, is there a solution?

If you don't have a cat or a wall ;)

You can try to take it apart, if you're not afraid of damaging it. I admit I've never disassembled a mouse, but see if you can find examples on Google or from the manufacturer of your mouse.
If when you open it, you find the plastic parts that are rubbing and squeaking (if my theory is correct ^^), you can try to "sand" them down to silence the squeaking!!

Sure, I'll give that a try.

Hello,
I just bought a Logitech M175 wireless mouse today and I'm having the same problem, it squeaks a lot. I'm already on edge after 1 hour of use and I'm at risk of smashing it against my wall.
Is it always going to be like this or should I go back to Darty and get a refund for this joyful fiasco?

Thank you

Hello L2o,
I have exactly the same problem as you! I just bought a Logitech M185 wireless mouse, just a week ago, and the scroll wheel is squeaking a lot, I've never seen anything like it!

Hello hello,

so I was patient and it stopped over time, (1 to 2 weeks?)
Otherwise, there's nothing else to do in the case of a new mouse, unless you want to return it to the store, but even if they replace it, I think the problem will recur with the new one.
Good luck!

It was therefore a trial period.

Thank you for your responses, I will wait another week to see (even though by doing this, I'm missing the withdrawal period... let's say it's an optimistic risk!)

Good evening.

This may be a sign of wear.
The mouse needs to be disassembled, and the microswitch (the small switch) in question should either be replaced or the latter can also be disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled. It's doable since I've been through it. I still have some microswitches in stock. Three legs to desolder. Otherwise, you can apply a little KF cleaning product on this small switch without disassembling it and see how that goes.

Thank you for your response, but it's a new mouse; I bought it today. If it’s already worn out, as you say, that’s outrageous, and I might as well go complain in the store. I read that it might be like new shoes in my case, you have to wait for them to break in... But I risk breaking it by then.
