[RedHatES3] LAN goes off in RedHat ES3

Question

hi, Please help me ...
I have a RedHat ES3 installed on my server, every thing is ok ...
but if disconnect the lan cable, from the lan card, and i reconnect the cable, the network is not working : no ping and LEDs are OFF.

if i restart the server its ok.

what is the problem? a bug?

Hi,
Have you checked the mode you are using on your interface ? Is it 100fdx ? Is autoneg activated ?
What about the switch at the other end of the cable ?

You could try commands like "mii-tool eth0" or "ethtool eth0" to check and then to ajust these parameters.
