CD player not opening anymore

Question

When I press the button to open my CD-RW drive, it doesn't open. It tries, making a small click, but fails. Even if I keep the button pressed, it struggles to open. This drive is quite old, it's 4 years old.

What do you think?

Is it a lack of power, a poorly installed driver, or is it simply too old?

Configuration: AMD Sempron 3400+ 2 Hard drives 2 Drives (one DVD-R/RW, one CD-RW) Graphics card: nvidia 6600 GT Power supply: heden brand, 480W

Check that your drive is still recognized by your system (does it still appear in your workstation and in the BIOS?)

If yes, take a close look at the front of your CD/DVD drive: not too far from the button to open the drive, there should be a small circular hole.

Insert a very thin screwdriver or a paperclip all the way in: your drive should open. (it's better to do this with the computer turned off). Remove all the dust, restart your computer, and it should work!

If not, head to the store...

Power shortage? It takes more than that to make it turn.
Pilot? He doesn’t need one.
Probably a mechanical issue, since it eventually opens but with difficulty.
Or dust: it doesn’t take much.
Drop it off and take a look at what’s visible. You never know.

Yes, absolutely, it's a mechanical problem; it doesn't have the power to remove the machine that reads the CD for the latter and then eject the (tray) with a rolling mechanism. So I believe there's a small solution, which is to leave a CD in there.
At this moment, there is no reliable solution; the only thing is to buy another one, haha, and that's it.
