Thank you for this response,
but I'm looking for a solution similar to what can be done in Word, for example. By going once into the file, then tools, then security, and choosing a password for opening the file, all without external software.
I'm trying to do the same thing for a Notepad file but unfortunately without success.
I hope I made myself understood,
Thank you in advance.

it's not possible, you have to look in external applications... notepad is too basic.
And if I put this notepad file in a folder eventually, would it be possible to lock this folder in as simple a way as I'm looking for the file, without using external software?
Hoping I have made myself understood.
