Hello,
So here it is, I have a Lenovo G550 laptop and I would like to restore it to its original state (factory state) using OneKey Recovery.
So I wanted to know if it is safe to use this software. I have never done this kind of thing on a computer before.
And since I am not qualified in IT, I don't want to "mess up" my laptop. I'm asking for the opinion of those who are qualified, or at least who can help me.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Safari 535.1

I have no sound on my Lenovo Windows 7.
Finally, I was able to restore it to factory settings:
- I created my "recovery" CDs.
- Then I turned off the computer and turned it back on.
- I modified the BIOS so that the computer boots from the CD before the hard drive.
- I had to press a key quickly and then it switched to Recovery mode.
- And then I just had to follow the on-screen instructions to restore it to the way it was when I bought it.

Good evening/Good morning (yes, it depends on what time you see my message),
I know this post is almost 3 years old now, but I currently find myself in the same position you were in. I tried to follow your instructions, but without success. I wanted to ask you, would it be possible for you or anyone who sees this message to explain the different steps in more detail?
Thank you in advance!

? Introduction
The Lenovo OneKey Rescue System is an easy-to-use application that allows you to
back up data on your system partition (C drive) and easily restore it if needed. You can run Lenovo OneKey Recovery under Windows and OneKey Rescue
System without booting the Windows operating system.
Attention:
To use the features of OneKey Rescue System, your hard disk is equipped with a default hidden partition to store an image file and the OneKey Rescue System program files. The default partition is hidden for security reasons, which is why the available space is less. The exact available disk space depends on the size of the image file (which depends on the size of the operating system and pre-installed software).
? Using Lenovo OneKey Recovery (in a Windows operating system)
In a Windows operating system, double-click the OneKey Recovery
System icon located on the desktop to start Lenovo OneKey Recovery.
This program allows you to back up the system partition to the hard drive or other storage devices, or to create recovery disks.
For further instructions, refer to the Lenovo OneKey Recovery help file.
? Using Lenovo OneKey Rescue System (without the Windows operating system)
If it is not possible to boot the operating system, follow the instructions below to access OneKey Rescue System.
* Turn off your computer.
* Press the key to start OneKey Rescue System.
This program allows you to restore the system partition to its factory state or to the state of one of the previous backups.
Notes:
* Since the backup process and the creation of recovery disks may take
some time, connect the power adapter and battery to your computer.
* When you have burned the recovery disks, please number them to use them in the correct order.
* Computers not equipped with an integrated optical drive support the creation of recovery disks; however, you need to obtain an external optical drive to physically create
these disks.
Note: The recovery process is irreversible. Ensure that you have a backup copy of critical files before using the recovery feature.

Hello,
What is OneKey Recovery about, I mean what do you have to do to launch it?
With my Sony laptop, I've done it about ten times, XP and 7 (2x) without any problems; I actually find it very good, everything is cleaned and "demagnetized," it's like a new lease on life for your machine.

Since man stood upright on two legs, he believes he is the only thinking one among billions of solar systems comparable to our solar system.

OneKey Recovery means restoring my computer to factory settings, as if I had just bought it.
And no, I didn't create a recovery DVD during the first setup of my PC.
But since it's Win7, I imagine there should be a hidden partition to restore to factory settings, right?

I spent 3 hours trying to understand the software. I still haven't managed to do a restore... I don't understand how to do the restore. I've tried everything, but nothing at all.
This program is for creating your recovery DVDs as soon as you start up the PC.
If your PC is still functioning, it's better to leave it as is.
It should be noted that IBM's hotline is free for the first few weeks, and a set of 3 factory reset recovery DVDs is offered upon request.
You should take advantage of this because after this period, I believe the DVD set is charged.
The Lenovo key, the suitcase with the key on it, allows you to restore XP and the software in about 8 minutes.
The only difficulty you will encounter is going to the site https://www.ibm.com/fr-fr to retrieve the drivers, and it takes a while.
You need to do this before you dive "into the mechanics," if I may put it that way.

I had already looked at this help file. Even in the guide that I received with my computer, it doesn't help me much. When I press the button next to the power button, it just restarts my computer. When I open "OneKey Recovery" and click on "System Recovery," it restarts the computer. It's impossible to restore to the initial state.
Hello,
This seems quite explanatory about Lenovo:

Oh yes, I want to clarify that the source of my problem is not unknown to me.
Let me explain, after installing a theme using Custopack, my PC was slow, so I wanted to go to the start menu to restart my PC, but at that moment the screen froze. After a long half hour of waiting, I decided to remove the battery to turn it off and back on. My PC starts normally, up to the Windows icon and then nothing, a complete black screen except for my mouse, no beeping or any other kind of coding appeared.

Hello,
I carefully read the manual you provided me, but my problem is not explained there. Indeed, under Lenovo, we have a partition called "Recovery". Normally, from this partition, we can restore our PC to factory settings (it’s like a CD in the form of a hard drive). However, when I enter my BIOS to change the boot order of the various components of my PC to boot this partition first, I get "Bootmgr is missing". After extensive searching, I decided to use Ubuntu (from a USB stick) to back up my important files and reinstall Windows. So I do all the work, and at the end of the installation of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (like my previous version), the resolution of my screen, my network cards, and many other things are not installed. Therefore, I do not have internet access to install all the drivers from this PC. Do you have any idea how to solve my problem, please?
