Hello everyone,
So I'm using OpenOffice (version 1.9.113) and I have a strange document. When I edit the text, I have pages that follow each other without any problem, but when I do a print preview, there's a page that appears in the middle of the document with "Blank Page" displayed on it. Looking in the editor, I do indeed go from page 5 to page 7, but there's no way to delete this page 6! I only see it in the preview.
What should I do, doctor? :o)

Hello
The stable version is 2.0.2!!!
So an upgrade is in order! (especially if your boss is that paranoid)

Good evening everyone,
I had a similar issue, and going through PDF to remove the blank pages didn’t suit me at all; it completely disrupted my layout (even and odd pages with different layouts due to double-sided printing and external pagination - a big deal in terms of printing).
I resolved my issue by juggling with page styles (style and formatting) and assigning styles to the cover pages, followed by a succession of even/odd pages (or left/right). By assigning a following style to each (Format / page), I managed to get back on track.
I’m not sure if I was very clear, but unfortunately, I don’t have time to explain further as I have deadlines to meet...
Personally, I try to use more and more open-source software, but I must admit there’s a bit of a learning curve for some advanced functions (sections don’t quite work the same as in MS Word)...
Good luck to everyone, and keep the faith in Oo ;-)-
Good evening,
You indeed need to go through the "Tools"/ "Options"/ "OpenOffice.org Writer" menu/
and uncheck the box "Automatically print inserted blank pages"
BUT
that’s not enough!!!
You also need to go to the "File"/ "Printer Settings" menu
At this stage,
choose your printer from the dropdown menu.
Then
click on the "Options" button (located at the bottom of the window)
And finally
uncheck the box "Automatically print inserted blank pages"
Note: Normally, you shouldn't have to go through this last step, but I have noticed that sometimes it is necessary.
There you go,

I had the same issue.
And I can be satisfied to crush a fly with a bulldozer (Don't take it the wrong way, I was just amused to clean my registers :o) ... I really like OOo, so I'm trying to learn to use it without thinking that the slightest surprise comes from a design or programming error ;-) (that said, the advice to update the version is good to follow)
So if the reinstall doesn't work, we can try this: (source OOo help)
in the help, search for "removing printing of blank pages"
and click on the chapter "Alternating page styles on even and odd pages"
------------
Removing the printing of blank pages
If two even or odd pages follow each other in your document, Writer automatically inserts a blank page by default. You can prevent these automatically generated blank pages from being printed and exported to PDF format.
1.Choose Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org Writer - Printing.
2.Select the command Print automatically inserted blank pages so that the checkmark is no longer visible.

I saw this today, I tried it, it didn’t work. I don’t think I did anything wrong.
Too bad this freebie requires empty pages that will waste paper.
