[OpenOffice - Calc] Line break Solved

Question

Hello,  How do you create a line break in a cell in OpenOffice Calc? It's a function that existed in Excel but I haven't found it.

Hello, actually there's an important detail!

When you have selected the cell, press "F2" and then hold down the "Ctrl" + "Enter" keys

Tested with Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn (English version) and OpenOffice.org 2.2.0 (English version)

Maybe it would be good to clarify what the F2 key is for? The only thing I found is that it is used to "enter input mode". What does that mean?

does not work on Mac: F2 adjusts the brightness and ctrl+enter does nothing at all except move to the next cell...

It's very kind of you to say that it doesn't work ON Mac (which is quite logical for us to understand on our own), but if you could also tell us how to create a line break on Mac, that would be really nice! :)

Double click in the cell (the cursor changes from an arrow to a text entry line) then CMD+ENTER.

In fact, I just tried your solution on PC and I got a bit mixed up, so you need to double-click on the desired cell, then press ctrl + alt + enter simultaneously.

Writing text on multiple lines
1. To insert a manual line break, press Ctrl+Enter.
This shortcut only works in the cell, not in the input line.
Once the right border of the cell is reached, the text can be automatically wrapped:
1. Select all the cells whose text needs to be wrapped.
2. In Format - Cells - Alignment, check the Wrap text option, then click OK.
