Hello,
I have a small issue in Word 2003: I am writing my thesis, which involves translating ancient texts, so I chose to insert a table to display the original text and the translation side by side. The document is long (over 70 pages), and I need to include numerous footnotes.
My problem is the following: no matter where I insert the footnote reference, the footnote itself ends up at the bottom of the first page, since that's where I inserted the table. I would like each footnote to appear at the bottom of the page where the footnote reference is inserted. Is this possible? (And am I clear enough? ^^)
Thank you in advance for your help.
Configuration: Windows XP / Safari 534.16

I am, on the contrary, convinced that it is infinitely more practical, both for typing and for corrections and layout, to have one row of the table for each block of text.
... hoping that BDWaBN knows how to repeat a row across all pages, display borders in white, split a table, and other minor table functionalities, since this is the tool he chose instead of text boxes or working in columns, the other two methods he could have adopted ...
Best regards.
To respond to Raymond PENTIER, working in columns is not feasible as it also separates the footnotes into columns, which does not suit me. I will try to follow your advice and repeat a line on every page.
Thanks again for your quick responses, I am still open to any other miracle solution.
Have a nice day.
I completely agree with the one line per text block recommended by Raymond.
The response was a bit quick and was more aimed at raising the footnote in its page...
