Header and Footer Display

Question

Hello,

When I create a new Word document, the initial sheet opens with the cursor on the very first line located at the page header (first half cm).
If I want to start writing while keeping the usual margin at the top of the page, I have to display the header first and then close the display (and then the cursor positions itself as usual). I didn't have this issue before and I don't see what I could have changed... I am working on Word 2003.

Hello,

Lebam, it's the space between pages that needs to be disabled.

Go to tools / options / display tab / check space between pages

or more directly, click on the top edge of the page which should show you two arrows and a display/hide dialog box.

Check that your margins, which are the default Word settings, are 2.5 top-bottom-left-right and that the headers and footers are set to 1.25 in the layout tab.
If you need to make corrections, do so on a blank document and check the default box; this will apply to your normal.dot and your default template will be corrected.
What is learned with effort is not easily forgotten; what is learned and acquired easily is quickly forgotten and slips away!

The margins were fine. I still validated the "default" option and that didn't solve the problem...
