External Hard Drive Not Recognized/EssentielB

Question

Hello,    Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 4.0.1  My computer does not recognize my external hard drive with the Essentiel B case at all, while two days ago I tried it with another case and it worked. I have searched the entire forum for a solution but found nothing. I followed the methods that suggest going into disk management or device management, or even unchecking the power options box, anyway.... Is there any other solution to my problem or is my external hard drive completely DEAD two days after the first attempt?  I am desperate! And thanks in advance for all your suggestions!

Hello,
Have you tried all these solutions:

In the control panel:

Double-click on Administrative Tools,
Click on Computer Management
Click on Disk Management.
If the external hard drive appears, you need to partition it and then format it for it to show up in My Computer.

If the disk does not appear:
Test with another USB cable
Try unplugging the drive, turning it off, plugging it back in, and then turning it on again
Install the latest motherboard drivers, especially the USB drivers!
Check the hard drive manufacturer's website for any specific drivers. Also, check if they have a section with frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Check (if possible) the jumper position in the rack (Sata1/Sata2 for a SATA drive) or set it to master (IDE Drive)
Connect the hard drive directly to the motherboard to see if the issue is with the enclosure or the hard drive.

Hello, I have the same problem, another case where the hard drive works perfectly well. It's important to know that the Essential B and Listo products are garbage; let's call a spade a spade, it's the Boulanger private label. These are products ordered in very large quantities for cheap; it's these private label brands that spend their time in customer service.

Hi, I'm thinking about your USB port that's not active. Check in your device manager if there's a mark? Uninstall it, reboot your PC, and reconnect it.
