Hello gryzzly,
You seem quite agitated, there’s no need to spew your hatred like that. The internet allows for some liberties with spelling, nothing alarming, Grande Gueule will always be spelled with two G’s. This is the case, for example, in the choice of a nickname ("grizzly" doesn’t take two "y’s," does it?). These liberties allow surfers to escape the rigidities of the school language. I see that anglicisms don’t bother you, but go ahead and place "damned" in a cover letter, which seems to be your linguistic and social reference point. Furthermore, regarding the issue with GrMi’91, know that the law on private copying allows the owner of the CD (in this case) to reproduce it for personal use. I remind you (or teach you?) that Sony has already been condemned for violating the right to private copying for its anti-copy protection, notably used on DVDs. Thirdly and finally, I think that preaching morality on a forum is quite easy (proof of this!), and the surrounding hypocrisy is enough to make one smile… I’m sure you’re ready to write to us that you’ve never laid eyes on a pirated game, movie, or software… Blessed be you, abstinent from technology or a millionaire fulfilled. Don’t forget to vote tomorrow if you’re of age, I’m sure you have plenty to express. Best regards, S. Duflos

And yes, I am here…
So, there’s a lot to say, both about the content and the form. Too much that I am lost. Anyway!
Does "readable French" include accents, cedillas? I repeat myself, but the freedom to write "correctly" is subject to many interpretations. Back in the day, verlan caused as much controversy; what remains of it today? Nothing too serious... Since Rabelais, the language has undergone a few changes.
The company's problem... I just completed an internship for a site that publishes various cultural content, critiques of books, films, CDs, etc.… Out of a writing team of 40 people, the majority have a more than decent level of French, proof that not everything is lost. If French classes are necessary for "certain companies" (a touching attention, by the way), whose fault is it? The internet, the cellphone, the computer? A bit easy... "The responsible ones" are surely each of us, behind our keyboards. Understanding simplified French should not be a problem for you; I even bet that some fools find it amusing. Fools, really! Oh yes, also, France has a literacy rate of 99%, would you have believed it?
To return to the LAW: the issue of piracy on the internet is a debate as old as the first tape recorder/copy machine, back when a Frenchman still won Roland Garros. Since then, VCRs and burners have evolved the form but not the essence of the problem. Why allow copying if it’s illegal? Why sell cars that can reach 250 km/h (kilometers per hour, for illiterate French people), to drive at a maximum of 130 on the highway? Why allow, via Windows Media Player, to copy a CD to your hard drive in three clicks? Why? Some peer-to-peer software (it’s heavy!), like Morpheus for example, is now unusable for downloading illegal copies. Why not generalize this practice? In the name of free will, surely.
An anecdote regarding legislation, indeed: several friends, having purchased a game for hard cash from businesses registered in commerce, were unpleasantly surprised to find that the CD key provided did not work. Deciding to call the customer service of the game's supplier, they were unfortunately told: "Uh, listen, you’d need to download a key generator; you can find that on the internet, I can’t help you here." Oh yes, truly, a keygen is very handy! It’s apparently a common phenomenon, many forums discuss this topic.
I will finally quote the equally amusing words of Jeff Raikes, president of Microsoft’s activities (14.4 billion in revenue in the third fiscal quarter of 2007), who stated at a press conference in San Francisco in March 2007, regarding reluctant users: "If they are about to pirate someone, we want it to be us rather than someone else." The reason is quite simple; using an illegal copy would lead the pirates onto the right path. Raikes also believes that pushing users too hard to acquire legal licenses would ultimately lead them to boycott the brand. In that case, everyone gets something out of it.
And to finish, last but not least: the "respect for current legislation"... Offenders are certainly the first to say the law is poorly made, but there are limits. Your remarks leave me speechless, aghast, and quite sad at the thought that yes, you went voting... Damned! Downloading music only to buy a CD later? What a shame! And if you can’t find the CD in stores? Ready to move heaven and earth to find it, scour flea markets, make calls around the world? Or, in utter disregard for all humanity, would you give in? Ugh, that thought terrifies me… But even more terrifying is the final passage about recipients of RMI... I cordially invite you to check the amount of the Minimum Insertion Income, which, for a single person without children, amounts to 440.86 euros, since January 1, 2007. To afford "cell phone, headset, laptop, flat-screen, DVD player, gaming console," one must find the best deals! I see that apparently Charles Villeuneuve and his "Right to Know" from May 1st came by your place and struck a chord. What do RMI recipients have to do with this debate? Perhaps they are all parasites? At one time, it was enough to be named Seligmann to have to wear a yellow star. And that too, was the law…
Yes, yes, what you wrote is of little utility…

Hello.

"exactly the same as long as I have the original": well ..... no!

You are not the owner of the game; you have only purchased the right to use it; by doing so, at the time of installation, you accepted an end-user license agreement (EULA) like everyone else for all proprietary software, which prohibits you from modifying the program in question.

Importing a NoCd modifies the program, so it is illegal, so no such thing here.

"no need to have 2": well ..... yes; for example, to play together on a network on two PCs ....

See you later

Hey
Yeah, everything's good my dude but it's true that you've got a problem there: as you can't write, obviously you can't read
look at the response on number < 1 > about that: it's the same for you, the stuff isn't Lego, you have to look elsewhere

maybe with some images it'll be better:

Hello S.D,

You seem quite agitated
oh really, you teach me something
there's no need to spew your hatred like that
Hatred? I was simply making a remark out loud, which everyone here recognizes: writing in legible French. A forum is not a mobile phone. We are civilized people and therefore do what is necessary to make ourselves understood.
The internet allows, among other things, certain liberties with spelling; nothing alarmist, Grande Gueule will always be spelled with two Gs.
You start on the internet, you continue in your emails, on your documents... well done... Did you know that some companies are forced to conduct internal training to give French courses because it's a disaster that their employees are unable to write a sentence without mistakes? It's disheartening.
This is the case, for example, in choosing a username (“grizzly” doesn't take two “y”s, it seems to me)
That's true, grizzly only takes one "y" or none at all, but my username has nothing to do with the animal in question or at least not directly. I use it in the sense of a proper name, which therefore has no precise spelling. My first name is Emmanuel; my parents could have just as easily named me Emanuel, Aymanuel, or who knows what else. I could just as easily have chosen TrorT, which is a series of random characters without meaning. However, I make the effort to respect the spelling rules of the French language. If I talk to you about "maux" or "mots," I'm not speaking about the same thing. If I talk to you about "mauts," that doesn't exist. Spelling is therefore essential for understanding.
Liberties that allow surfers to escape the school rigidity of the language.
Very well, do that with your friends if you wish, but here, we are not your buddies, and we all make the effort to write without intentional spelling mistakes. School rigidity? No, respect for the French language.
I see that anglicisms don't bother you, but try inserting “damned” in a cover letter, which seems to be your linguistic and social benchmark.
Damned = interjection. It's an anglicism, certainly, but definition:
DAMNED: Interjection following a bug. Part of the French computer jargon.
Moreover, regarding the issue of GrMi’91, be aware that the law on private copying allows the possessor of the CD (in this case) to reproduce it for personal use.
It's a tolerance, not a right. You do not buy the rights of possession; you buy the rights of use.
Let me remind you (or teach you?) that Sony has already been convicted for violating the right to private copying for its anti-copying mechanism, notably used on DVDs.
Unfortunately, there is currently nothing to indicate that case law is definitively on this side. If you read the terms of use of a game, you will often read that any modification of the code is strictly prohibited. NOW, a no CD crack is a modification of the game's code, thus legally prohibited. For those who understand, that's piracy.
Thirdly and lastly, I think that preaching morality on a forum is quite easy (proof of that!), and the prevailing hypocrisy there is enough to make one smile… I’m sure you’re ready to tell us that you have never laid eyes on a pirated game, film, or software…
No, I wouldn't say that. I have downloaded music on the internet before. To discover an artist and then buy their CD if I find it interesting enough to keep.
However, I strictly adhere to the site’s CHARTER. It is clearly specified that giving advice on piracy of any kind is prohibited. It is your responsibility to read the terms of use of a place you enter before making a comment like the one you just did.
Blessed are you, abstinent from technology or a wealthy millionaire.
It's got nothing to do with it. Respect for the current legislation. It reminds me of certain welfare recipients who all have mobile phones, headsets, laptops, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, gaming consoles... and who complain about the level of their welfare. For my part, when I can't afford something, I don't buy it, or only when necessary. For example, my mobile phone is already 6 years old, black and white, just for SMS, no games. I have a laptop due to my many travels. No TV... There are many things I do not have; I won't steal them or pirate them on the internet even if some things would please me greatly.
Don't forget to vote tomorrow if you are of age; I'm sure you have plenty to express.
Yes, I am of age, and I will certainly present myself (through an intermediary) at my polling place.

However, I think you won’t come back here... so what I've just written is of little utility.

Avoid talking to me like that or it's going to end up in, you know what I mean.

Eight mistakes in fourteen words, that's still a lot I think... what's wrong with young people these days? Do they think they're clever making mistakes for fun? And in ten years, they'll be saying "What a fool I was, now I can't find a job because my resume and cover letter are filled with mistakes."
Poor things... poor teachers, poor parents...

Damned!

clap clap clap,

Thank you for this intervention. There are many points on which I disagree with you, but I will not pursue this debate further through a screen. Have a great day.
