Hello everyone,
This is my first post on a forum, I hope I will do it properly ^^.
I waited before posting thinking there must be an answer somewhere on a forum, but after two whole days dedicated to this, I'm slightly losing hope...
Here's my problem:
I've been using uTorrent for a few years now and I've never encountered any issues until last Monday...
I launch uTorrent for a download but it won't start. I notice that there is no color icon at the bottom right to indicate if the client is properly connected, and on top of that, the DHT shows "0 nodes" or "waiting for identification".
I run a network test in the options, and it tells me that the port is not open...
Up until now, I have never needed to open any ports on my router to run uTorrent at full speed, but I did it just in case, and it made no difference. Even after opening a port, uTorrent still indicates that it is closed....
I check the antivirus and firewall, and there are no restrictions against the client.
I check the version, and it's the latest one. I reinstall uTorrent anyway (just in case), but it changes nothing. I check the settings on my router and restart it, still nothing.
I tried downloading Open Office to verify that it wasn't a tracker issue, but it still doesn't work.
In fact, nothing has changed except that uTorrent no longer works...
I'm out of ideas.
Does anyone have a solution or a lead to provide me?
Thanks in advance ^^

Hi
Glad to have our first interaction together LOL
So, I've also had this really annoying problem before
Nothing worked
Reinstallation
Checking for updates, etc.
My issue was that my box had updated itself
By doing this update, it changed the security and internet connection settings
Since when you download a torrent it's visible to all users and everyone can download it in turn
That's why you need to reset your box
I know it's quite annoying but it worked for me
Of course, it could be something else, so wait for more advice to be sure

Hi Medoulette!
It's true that I didn't reset my box... I just restarted it.
You say it's rather annoying, what do you mean by that? Will I have to do other manipulations afterwards?
(It may seem like a silly question but since I've only had it for a year and I've never done it, I admit I don't know what that entails...)

When you reset a modem, you lose everything you have programmed
Example
It resets the Wi-Fi settings to zero. Change of key, etc.
You need to enter the codes and identifiers you received in your welcome letter during your first installation
And so on. You get the idea. Right? It's pretty annoying, isn't it? LOL
But before doing that, wait for other responses
Tell me what site you use for your torrents
Because you might have exceeded your ratio
Right?

I don't know if this will help anyone given how weird it is, but:
I installed another torrent client: Vuze
I set both clients to the same port and uTorrent didn't like it at all, but at least it reacted!!!
I closed both of them. Then I restarted uTorrent and there, to my improbable miracle: it works again!!!
I am completely unable to understand what happened...
Anyway, thank you very much Medoulette for your answers!!!!!!!
