Special characters without a numeric keypad

Hello,

To access the most common special characters, I usually use the key combinations: Alt+... (For example: Alt+0133 gives the ellipsis, Alt+0140 gives "OE", etc.)

It's really handy and faster than going through the Windows character table. Does anyone know how to compose these shortcuts without a numeric keypad?

I often work on a Mini-PC and I waste a lot of time searching in the character table, when I know the shortcuts by heart.

Configuration: Windows XP /

I don't think there's a solution, you can buy a standalone one, wired or wireless, it's not too expensive or too bulky: http://www.leguide.com/sb/bp/2041902/bluestork/BS_Kbnum_black/48484422.htm
