Problem accessing laposte.net email, by IE or PA

Hello,
I have been experiencing problems with sending and receiving emails on laposte.net for a few weeks now (even though it had been working well for several years). I can retrieve messages through Outlook Express only once in 10 attempts (the other 9 times, I get the usual response:
The additional problem is that I find it very difficult to access the laposte website. Sometimes the homepage doesn’t even load, and sometimes it gets stuck at the authentication level. Just like with Outlook, it works only once in 10 attempts, and this time it's very fast).
I want to emphasize that I have no bandwidth issues (Freebox 20 Mbps, browsing other sites is very fast, and I receive my Free emails perfectly well through Outlook Express).
Could there be a conflict between Free and laposte.net? (but why wouldn’t it happen consistently...)

If anyone has found themselves in my situation and managed to find the cause of these problems, it would be great if you could enlighten me!

PS: I have a new computer since a few weeks ago, connected to the old one via the Freebox. Initially, everything worked well, so I don’t think that’s the cause…

Hello,

Uncheck the option "connect using secure password authentication (SPA)"
under Outlook 2003: tools/email accounts ... modify
In Outlook 2007, tools/account settings menus: mail tab
This option seems to be enabled by default in Outlook 2007.

IT WORKS, Thanks for your reply amelmat,
I can finally receive my emails in Outlook again.

To receive your emails in Outlook, you need to
in Outlook 2003 go to tools/mail accounts ... then modify
Uncheck the option "connect using secure password authentication (SPA)"
and in Outlook 2007, tools/account settings menu: mail tab
Amalmat says that this option seems to be set by default in Outlook 2007, I don't know
I have 2003.
In fact, migrated or not, I have the impression that it's the same for everyone

I still need an explanation of why this changed and especially why we weren't told before...

Hello,
I have the SOLUTION, the Little Guys, I finally found the EFFICIENT configuration for Windows Live Mail and Outlook.
WORKS 100%

First: Server Settings Tab!!!!!

MY EMAIL SERVER: IMAP
Incoming mail: imap.laposte.net (Port:143)
Outgoing mail: smtp.orange.fr (for Orange ISP, otherwise put yours)
Username: Your_address (without the @laposte.net)
Password: ...............
Checked plain text authentication
Then unchecked My server requires authentication on outgoing (THIS IS THE KEY POINT of the Configuration)

Second: General and Advanced tabs!!!!!!!

Email address: Your_address@laposte.net
NO reply address and checked the box below.
Unchecked SSL Connections in the ADVANCED tab because the server does not support them.

Hello,

It seems that it is no longer possible to configure Outlook Express to receive emails with the POP.LAPOSTE.NET servers.
I just checked the settings of my account where it appears that my mailbox is in the process of migrating, and some features are temporarily unavailable.

I hadn’t noticed it before, but I think we need to redefine the rules for messages, meaning checking the options for forwarding to another address (like Yahoo Mail).

I will check this tonight and keep you informed.

Best regards

Hello again,

It seems that Laposte.net is indeed undergoing maintenance. I did receive an email from them notifying me of this, the content of which is as follows:

New @laposte.net messaging

It's the same, but much better!

Dear Subscriber,

Always eager to improve the services we offer you, your email will be modernized.

We would like to inform you that during this maintenance, some features will be temporarily disabled or unmodifiable.

If you are using these features, starting from August 5, 2007:
the automatic sending of your out-of-office message will be disabled,
the automatic forwarding of received messages to other email addresses
will no longer be modifiable,
and the modification of the retrieval of messages from your
other email addresses will not be possible.

We will send you a message as soon as these functions are restored. If you use these features, please take note of the forwarding and message retrieval email addresses that you have set up in the "Options" tab.

In the meantime, we invite you to get a sneak peek at the new version of your @laposte.net messaging. Click here

The laposte.net team sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience caused and thanks you for the trust you place in them.

Best regards,

The laposte.net team

That's it, we just have to wait.
Good evening.

Hello,

for those who are still customers of laposte.net, an article from Arobase.org explaining the situation. In summary, everything is fine, it's normal because it's complicated, and by the end of October everything will be resolved.

Hello again

Even the contact form is inaccessible https://aide.laposte.net/webmail-version?solution=faq
In my opinion, IT is not their area of expertise...

Hello,

https://www.arobase.org/laposte-net/

I quote: "Accounts that have not yet migrated do not currently have all the features, such as importing and exporting the address book, filters, collecting mailboxes, or redirecting emails to a third-party mailbox. For these accounts, this situation is therefore only temporary. By the end of October, we expect to have fully completed the migration. "

I deduce that my account has not yet migrated, since I cannot receive my La Poste emails in Outlook....

Grrrrrr

To not find the questionnaire, you must have smoked the carpet, at the bottom of all the pages, just click on help then at the question "Does this information answer your question?" you need to click on no and you will find the form.

In any case, I don’t know who wrote this but I haven't lost any contacts; when I asked a question to customer service, I received a response, not the right one, but at least a response. I asked my question again and eventually got an answer for my password problem which has been resolved. Duration of the process was 4 days, that’s true it’s a bit long, but to have a mailbox on Gmail, try writing to them and we'll talk again, and if you tell me that there are no problems with Gmail, your memory is a bit short:
Disappearance of data on Gmail
(29/12/2006)
Several users of Google's webmail service had the unpleasant surprise of finding their mailbox empty upon logging into Gmail. Received messages, sent messages, contacts, everything was gone. In a message dated December 22 posted on a forum dedicated to the service, Google admits to being in search of what may have occurred, confirming that it was not due to a mismanagement by the users. Google has not provided any further details since that day. "

By the way, Jenny, the form you say is faulty works just fine,

Hello,

Solution found: I just installed my new antivirus Bitdefender 2009.
Regarding the privacy module, I set the mode to aggressive which disables cookies. From there, it was impossible to open my account. So, I reset this setting to default and it works.

Your turn now.

Happy surfing.

IT OFTEN JUST TAKES CHANGING BROWSERS FOR THINGS TO WORK.
FOR ME, YESTERDAY, WITH FIREFOX, NOTHING WORKED, I ONLY HAD A "CREATE ACCOUNT" PAGE. I CLOSED FIREFOX AND OPENED "OPERA" AND THERE, PERFECT.

I DON'T LIKE OUTLOOK WHICH MADE ME LOSE TOO MUCH, I UNINSTALLED IT FROM MY PC, IT AND I ARE RATHER WELL OFF WITHOUT EACH OTHER.

YOU SHOULD NOT PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET; YOU NEED TO HAVE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS, AND SEVERAL BROWSERS, WE HAVE THE CHOICE / MAXTHON / OPERA / FIREFOX / CHROME / Avant Browser / GREEN BROWSER, EXPLORER, ETC....
AND FOR EMAILS, SAME THING, WHEN ONE IS INACCESSIBLE, HAVE ONE OR TWO BACKUP ACCOUNTS, WITH OR WITHOUT RETRIEVING EMAILS FROM OTHER ACCOUNTS, IT KEEPS THE BRAIN WORKING, YOU DON'T MOLD, AND WHEN ONE LETS YOU DOWN, YOU CAN COUNT ON THE OTHER. IT'S BETTER THAN BREAKING A CABLE OR GETTING AN ULCER...
YOU NEED TO GET ORGANIZED TO STAY CALM.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE, STAY CALM, LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO RUIN IT FOR YOURSELF.

Except that at work, it's so rigid that you make do with what you have or rather with what you are given.

If you have added an ad blocker, or are blocking pop-ups, there is a line that displays at the bottom of the screen with a box labeled "options" where you just need to click and allow either temporarily or permanently the visited site whether it be La Poste or a redirection. On Firefox, recently, the ad blocker is blocking La Poste:
- either you switch to "Opera,"
- or you "unblock" by looking closely at the bottom of the screen.
I resolved my La Poste issue from Firefox by unblocking in Adblock+.

Hello,

Same for me:
Can't access my @laposte.net emails.
I can't even connect to the homepage!!!
And this is the case from any computer!!!
Here’s the message that appears:

Login to the Laposte.net service

You are no longer logged in.
Return to the laposte.net portal

And in the address bar:

https://compte.laposte.net/erreur/500.do

It’s a disaster! It’s my "official" address, I can’t retrieve anything.
And of course, no hotline contact information for laposte.net.

If someone has a solution... thanks in advance.

I've had the same problem since the end of July. I can't access my inbox via Outlook or on the "verify your password" site???!!!
Without changing anything, I retrieved my emails around August 20. Since this morning, I can no longer do it. It's my work email!!
Does anyone have any information?

Note that I cannot access my mailbox via the website laposte.net, nor through Outlook. It's infuriating.

Hello, I too have tried several times to change my (supposedly forgotten) password but it still doesn't work since at least Friday.
Before the pote.net page opened, I received an alert about phishing?? Should I create another address? Because even with the new passwords, the box says that the password is incorrect. Thank you.

Hello,
I hope this issue will be covered in the print and broadcast media.
Such unavailability is unacceptable.
I have the problem at home and at the office, with IE and Mozilla.
I really think we have no choice but to wait for their goodwill.

Which webmail do you recommend, because poste.net is done for me.
Thank you

Bryan84, what do you mean by "retyping the registration"? Do you mean by creating a new account?
I tried it without believing it, and it didn't work because "The field 'My email address' is invalid: This address is not available." And fortunately, too! I would like to recover my inbox with all my emails.
