Hello!
Laposte.net has rejuvenated its Webmail. It's about time. It's not as amazing as we could have hoped, but it's better than nothing.
However, I have the impression that it’s not just the Webmail that has changed... In fact, the fact that the mailboxes are "in the process of migration" seems to indicate that there are also changes at the server level hosting the emails.
Personally, I use different IMAP clients to access my emails on laposte.net (Thunderbird, Outlook...) It seems I've noticed that since the migration, it is no longer possible to create IMAP folders at the root of the account, but all folders are subfolders of INBOX. Has anyone else noticed the same thing???
Worse. The existing folders have been moved under INBOX after the migration (I have one mailbox that has already been migrated and another that is still in the process...)
It's not that it bothers me too much, however for IMAP clients, it’s a different story. They try to create their operational folders (Trash, Sent, Draft, etc... the names change according to the client) at the root (so at the same level as Inbox), but it fails. So it doesn’t work properly at all (especially: unable to delete emails since there’s no trash). For Thunderbird, no problem because we can specify the location of those folders. However, I don’t know how to configure that for Outlook (is it feasible)? If someone has a solution for Outlook, I'm interested!
Can someone confirm my observations? And why on earth does laposte.net forbid folders at the root? So that we cannot use any IMAP client other than its webmail???
See you!
Philippe
