Unable to drag file from Mac to LaCie

Hello,

I bought a LaCie Grand 1TB external hard drive and I already burned files onto it without issues on my Mac...
The problem is that now my Mac is full and when I connect my HDD to it and open the LaCie file, there is no way to drag anything onto it...

What should I do please because my Mac can’t take anything anymore?

    Something is escaping me: if this disk had been reformatted by the PC, the files coming from the Mac wouldn’t be on it anymore. If these files are still on it, which seems to be the case since it’s about backing up what’s on it, the problem must be elsewhere.
    The disk was probably already formatted as MS-DOS (FAT32) so someone could use it on a PC transparently. Since FAT32, also called MS-DOS, is compatible with both Mac and PC.

    You should select the disk in Finder, press Command-I to read the Information window, check its format if needed, but also at the bottom of the Info window, see who owns it, who has read/write rights on this disk, or if the disk is simply managed by permissions.

    Possibly run a permissions repair, reclaim rights, etc..
    Or run Disk Utility and run a repair there.

    Hello,

    Two possibilities:
    1) your LaCie drive is also full.
    2) your LaCie drive has been used on a PC and is therefore formatted for PC, which explains why the Mac can no longer write to it.

    Case 1: clean up the LaCie drive

    Case 2: Format the LaCie drive to Mac OS format via "Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility". Note that this will erase all data on the LaCie drive

      Indeed, someone borrowed the LaCie disk and has a PC... Thanks for the info, but I won’t be able to resolve the problem right away since I need to find a way to save everything on the LaCie.

      Another possibility: the disk is formatted MS-DOS (also called FAT32), which is the only format compatible with both Mac and PC. This format has limitations, such as the maximum file size being limited to 4 GB.
      Try copying a small file to this disk.
      If it really won’t do it, then do what Sanspseudo suggests (greetings to them): 
      You should select the disk in Finder, press Command-I to read the information window, check its format if possible, but also at the very bottom of the info window, see who owns it, who has read and write rights on this disk, or if the disk is simply managed by permissions.

      Actually, it shows me this: disk erasure failed
      unable to unmount the disk

      Any ideas?
