Unable to access Mac OS X utility at startup

Hello,

I bought a second-hand Mac mini, but the seller left his account on it without formatting it first.

I followed the various steps to reset/format the Mac mini:

- restarted it by pressing CMD + R to access the Mac OS X utility, but nothing happens (sometimes I see in other tutorials OPTION + CMD + R but nothing happens either) and I have a Bluetooth keyboard.

I tested starting up by just pressing ALT/OPTION and there indeed I can access the disk but that doesn't help me much

I even tried with an Apple USB keyboard but got the same result.

I can access Disk Utility through the utility menu, but at that moment I can't erase the hard drive, which makes sense since I'm using it...

Anyway, I'm stuck. Any ideas...?

    Hello,

starting with the cmd and R keys pressed allows booting from the recovery partition, but this is only if it exists. It does not exist on Mac OS X versions prior to Mac OS X 10.7, which seems to be the case.

Therefore, the solution involves one of the methods described here:

    Best regards.
