Hello everyone.
I'm trying in vain to flash my BIOS, but I can't do it!
(I have battery issues, which is why I want to flash it!)
I have an Acer Aspire One 532H
I followed the instructions to flash it using a USB stick, that is to say:
To update the BIOS, you will need a USB Flash drive. Proceed as follows to prepare the USB Flash drive:
Visit the Driver Download section on the Acer support website.
Select Series, Product Type, and then your specific product model.
Select the BIOS tab and click on the orange icon to download the latest BIOS version.
Click Save and select where you want to download the file.
Right-click on the downloaded zipped file, then click on Extract all files. A folder will be created with the same name as the downloaded file.
The folder will contain a file called 3310.fd. Right-click on this file and select Rename. Enter the new filename zg5ia32.fd.
Copy the files zg5ia32.fd and Flashit.exe to the USB Flash drive.
To update the BIOS of the Aspire One A110 or A150, proceed as follows:
Plug in your power adapter.
Insert the USB Flash drive into a USB port.
Press and hold the Fn and Escape keys and then press the power button.
When the power indicator lights up, release the Fn and Escape keys.
After releasing the keys, the power indicator will start blinking.
Let the computer run, and after about 1 to 7 minutes, the computer should restart. Once restarted, the BIOS will be updated.
But when I press Fn and Escape, nothing happens! It's normal that the computer is off! And when I also press the power button, the computer just starts normally.
What should I do?
I hope to get a quick response!
Thank you in advance.

I'm in the same situation as you, I downloaded the file to flash the BIOS but nothing works, it seems like the process doesn't work anyway with the files offered on the Acer site. After that, I think I found other sites that provide files to download, but it’s a bit risky because we are warned of the risk we take; it can completely mess things up if we don't take the right file. I think you should do like me, I'm going to call Acer directly. I read somewhere that a woman was in the same situation as us and they sent her the right files by email, and the problem was resolved. ^^
Good luck to you!! And if you resolved the problem another way, please let others know :P
