You need to collect seeds found in the city and then go into build mode, inventory, click on the seed, place it wherever you want in your garden, and then switch back to live mode, click on the seed and plant it. Don't forget to water, remove weeds, and harvest your fruits.
However, if someone knows how to create multiple families and put them in the same game or how to modify the city, please let me know. -

To be able to plant, you need to know how to garden. Improve your skills and you will be able to plant. -

If you don't want your sim to die, go to options. If you look closely, there is
(enable aging) and there's a checkmark. Click on it and save. Your sim won't die because the days will continue but aging won't. -
Actually, to plant a seed, you first have to pick it up. Then, you need to go into build mode and place it on the ground. After that, switch back to live mode and click on the seed; the option to plant will be there.
You cannot directly plant a seed found on your lot; you must first pick it up and replace it using build mode.
